TUSCALOOSA, Ala. ā The Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team used an 18-2 run first half run, along with strong play on the boards and stingy defense, to cruise to a 78-59 win over FAU on Monday night in Coleman Coliseum.

Coach Nate Oats Postgame Comments
- "I thought it was a great win. We needed it in a big way. I thought our guys stepped up. I was happy with the effort. We were obviously banged up, Herb (Jones) didn't play and we went with a different starting lineup with some guys that have been healthy and played well in practice. I thought Javian really stepped up and answered the bell. I thought he practiced, over the last week, as good as anybody that shows up in the game. To outrebound a team like that, they had 17 offensive boards at Miami last Friday. That's a tough rebounding team. That's a team that went in and beat Illinois last year, went in and beat UCF last year on the road and then played Miami really tough last week. That's a good, quality team and I thought our guys played hard and the effort kind of trumped any mistakes that we made. I thought our effort on the glass and our effort on defense was a lot better. We stepped up and made free throws too. That's always big to help the offense out and step up to the free throw line and make those."
