I agree with you but you say it as if Saban was incompetent. Maybe I am misreading it. Conservative sometimes sure. He certainly did not mind the offense running up the score once he changed offensive styles especially under Sark as the OC. Those offenses were averaging 40+ points/game.

How many games last year where we were struggling to put away a team by the time we reached half time? The team last year was 2nd half team.
I would not say last year was the norm for CNS tenure. That team had major issues with the OL early on. It took a long time for them to figure it out.
