Not that I'm against it because he looks like a player, but I thought each of the state teams were supposed to made up of players that played college ball in that state. In other words, I thought the Alabama team would be comprised of guys that played for Alabama, Auburn, Troy, UAB, ASU AA&M and Tuskegee.

I thought so myself, as our 2nd pick was a guy from Stanford :?

Arkansas picks up......ALBERT MEANS.

I think it was agood bet Alabama wasn't gonna get him.

I wouldn't want him.

Bo, one thing I was going to mention too regarding the rosters. The only problem with having a draft and having the teams use players excusive to their state is that you couldn't actually have a draft.

If the teams were using players exlusive to their state then no one actually has a chance to draft any player they want. So you wouldn't have a draft you'd just have teams invite in FA's to eval and sign.

I'm just glad Alabama has a team. I hope they do well and I'll watch and try to support this. It could be fun.

Oh I agree about the draft chopper. And I'm some what excited about this league. I was one of the few that loved the USFL. As I said in the other thread, I just hope some of the gaems are televised on a channel I can get.

Dude! I loved the USFL! Birmingham had a good team too. I used to love watching Joe Cribbs and Cliff Stoudt play.

Is the AAFL going to use college rules or NFL rules :?:

As far as I know Pro rules. This is being propped as a Pro league.

:? I hate the sudden death overtime

ghice, I was jsut reading on another site and the poster says that it's going to be mixed rules. I'm assuming he got that off the AAFL homepage.

He mentioned OT would be like college. One foot in bounds, college hash marks, and a few other things. So it's a combo of both it appears.
