💬 A Guns Thread

That's why I went back to double
/single or 1911s.. most discharges on striker guns was the "finger in the trigger well" when reholstering... usually in stressful situations..anyone using strike guns should consider the manual slide safety models..
I own 2 pistols...a SA 1911 and a Sig P226. Both are hammer fired. The next pistol I want to buy is also a hammer-fired pistol...Berreta 92FS/M9.

As far as Beretta goes...STICK WITH THE ONES MADE IN ITALY!!..
Oh yeah, I know.

I'd love to buy the M9A3 my best friend has. He's never shot it. I've offered him what he paid, plus some extra. But he just won't budge. But I can guarantee you that if I DO finally take it off his hands, I'll shoot the shit out of it. I don't believe in safe queens. Every gun I own has been shot multiple times on multiple range trips.

Having the trigger finger on the trigger while holstering is a training issue. Not a gun issue.
Correct... some departments make officers do what you call "no look holstering"... that means they're not allowed to take their eyes off the suspect and feel the gun back into the holster... some departments are going to a "quick look holstering" where they watch the gun go in place... when you do the to quick, you finger may slip in the trigger well and get pinched into the trigger... Sig 320s have an extremely light trigger up high.. as you can see in the provided video... the trigger goes off by touching the very top of it..

Never been a fan of sig anything. They are expensive and tend to be overly complicated. Stick with Glock for any type of carry for protection. Which is the point, right? It’s a tool to help protect you…..Easy to shoot, cost efficient and very safe for concealment and duty carry.

The pretty guns need to stay in the safe and stay pretty. The work horse is a Glock.

Just my humble opinion

I'm a Springfield Arms guy, striker, no manual safety but you have the lemon squeezer safety on the grip. You hold it right and it goes boom, otherwise no. I have the XD mod 2 in 9MM for carry and the Echelon full frame in 10MM, love them both, but my goodness I love that 10MM, 15-1 double stack. Sweet shooter.

Yeah, I’ve shot plenty of Springfields. They make some great polymer pistols. I had an XD sub for a long time and really liked it. Ended up selling it for more than I had in it though to a guy.

I really like their 1911s. I just don’t have the desire to carry a 1911. I’d much rather carry a Glock 17 or 19.

Each to his own though. Doesn’t matter what you carry if you don’t train though.

Agree, you have to be comfortable and ready. Speaking of 1911's, I got an Alabama-made Kimber Bicentennial edition - beautiful gun, and I can't help but shoot it.

I believe in shooting guns. We did the sporting clay circuit at CMP Talladega one time with some buddies. The employee there brings the cart over as I'm pulling out the Remington 1100 my Dad gave me as a 14 year old, and says, "is that an 1100? that's the most beautiful shotgun other than the Browning Auto 5!" Then, I pull out the Auto 5 my Mom bought for my Dad at either a Western Auto or Sears in 1962 (she's a little fuzzy on it), and the guy went nuts.

I always say having a gun you won't shoot is like being married to a supermodel, yet you won't touch her...

SIL is a cop. They have moved to Glock 47x. Gave their 19s up...
I still like my Walthers...seems plenty reliable and has a safety

But for a rifle. .... 44mag. Costly to shoot. Doesnt leave a trailIMG_1351.png

I bought a Henry in .357 magnum, I like it. I've considered buying one in .41 magnum because I have a nice Ruger in that caliber. Ammo would also be expensive, but not as bad as finding decent 38-40 ammo for my Model 92 and a Ruger I have in that caliber.

Yeah. 44mag for rifle is 1.50$./round. Everything in life thats worthwhile...is costly. So it seems

357 is one i dont have. Maybe be a FIT return item to buy

Talking about a safety, Glock has three internal safes.

I’ve dropped mine several times for various reasons. Never had an AD. It’s not to say they won’t happen, just not likely.

I think a lot of the ADs that happen with Glock, Springfield’s and the other striker fired guns are when some of those garage gunsmiths start tinkering with triggers and making them “hair” pulls.

I don’t recommend anyone messing with the trigger system unless they are certified.

Still...no safety...on Glock...strange...but sure has been reliable and accurate
