💬 A Guns Thread

Daughters boy friend came over Christmas day...between him n his assault weapons...me n my 44 mag rifle...and...
Various hand guns...

Shot at least 400$ worth of ammo up ... ( and didnt take that long).

Everyone wanted to shoot ..only 2 furnished the ammo... gonna be BYOB( bullets) next time.....

Love the pistol...
Sounds like a fun day. Other than picking up some 9mm on sale at Academy, I rarely buy ammo local anymore, and I usually find something cheaper than Palmetto.

It adds up quick. Not sure what you like to send out of your 44, but Ammoseek has a good group of core companies that offer free shipping and decent range brands. In the search, I always choose brass only, new and an "8" on their shipping rating. That captures the conditionally free shipping offers. 44 by Precision One from Outdoor Limited (I've used them, never had an issue) is 66 cents a round for 200 or 240 grain. Magtech is about the same, Winchester Super X runs you about 71-72 cents, again with free shipping. SGAmmo is another company that moves a lot through them, they are always competing for lowest price with free shipping.

72 cents vs. 1.11...that's just shy of three rounds for two. I don't have a 44, but I have a 41 magnum revolver, and those rounds aren't cheap. I almost bought a Henry lever action to match it, but they haven't (and probably won't) offer it with a side gate. I picked up one in 357 several years ago, and I really like it.

If you want the best place I've ever used to get good deals on ammo
1. Velocity Ammo sales.- free ship on purchases over $200 dollars and no tax in bama.. Usually arrives in 2-3 days..
2. SG Ammo sales- same as above.. shipping a little slow..

That's a standing rule with me. The only way it's not enforced is if I invite you to go shooting and TELL you I'll provide the ammo. Otherwise, if you want to shoot my gun, you can shoot exactly 1 mag's worth. After that, you can either pay me the current rate for the ammo I'm shooting or bring your own.

SG is good. I've ordered from them a few times. Shipping wasn't too bad, but I wasn't needing it right then. I usually order online when I'm looking to replenish what I've shot at a range session.

Yeah, that’s why I like ammoseek. It’s essentially a database of the ammo companies and you can search by caliber, new/reload, casing material and shipping costs. I always choose a shipping rating of 7 or 8 and that catches almost all of the free or conditionally free offers. Outdoor Limited is usually free for orders over $200.

Was at Rural King yesterday in Sweetwater TN .... notice how much ammo has dropped.
Can afford to restock my 9 n 45s.
Had a guys' weekend two weekends ago, went to the CMP range in Talladega and went through a good bit of ammo, but picked up some .45 while I was there. They had some .45 reloads on clearance, but I didn't buy any.

What are you seeing for 9 and 45 at your store?
