the root of Alabama's offensive woes are in the play of the QB. that doesn't mean that he's at fault however. the offensive coordination may have more to do with it than JPW. i don't know WHY it's happening. all i know is that it IS happening.
JPW has one target per pass play. any decent safety or LB would love to play against Alabama right now b/c all you have to do is watch his helmet to know exactly where the ball is going and make your break and get to the ball.
if this doesn't change, we'll be 6-6 at best this season. and it MUST change by next year.
we could actually use this to our advantage if we set up screens using it. teams know what he does and if they would get JPW to look off to the right and throw back to a screen on the left it would be WIDE OPEN b/c there is no faking to amount to anything going on in the passing game. i did see more play action yesterday than all year, but...
i'm not a big advocate of benching JPW permanently as i think he has potential, but i think sitting him for a couple of series in the first half when he starts to falter might be good for the team overall.
