🏈 2921...It's UT week...Let the Hate begin...

I rarely ever think of Bama vs Viles without thinking about Jerry Duncan. He felt pretty much the way every true Bama fan feels. He said something along this line as our sideline reporter once in Neyland Stadium: "Listen to them; they hate us! Well by God, I hate them too. Back to you, Doug."

There's a few of us on here that are old enough to remember John Forney, Doug Layton and Jerry Duncan as our broadcast team. Ah, the good ole days. Their radio broadcast was the main way to listen to our games before TV took over.

I can still heat all their voices as if it were yesterday. I recall whenever Bryant would put in the scrubs and the other team would get anywhere close to scoring, I always got chills whenever John Forney would announce "...and here comes the Redwood Forest.." - indicating that the starting 'D' was making its way back onto the field.

Jerry Duncan always cracked me up. His accent was SO country. LOL. Those were the days.

This brings back memories (from 1972 Bama Tenn):

Here's a 10 second video highlight of that game:
