🏈 2026 Alabama Roster Management Chart and Portal news

I can't understand how anybody would commit with the same coaches in place.. Not ONE fired yet..
I still don't think the problem was necessarily coaching in terms of the lack of running game. I really think the abysmal running game was a personnel issue. The coaches can preach technique until they are blue in the face, but if the lineman can keep their hands inside and the running back can't hit the hole without dancing........??? I think the running backs and the Oline recruited the last 3-5 years have been lacking.

Think about 2021-2023. We struggled to run the ball then. Let me rephrase- we were middle of the pack during those years in the SEC.

If you could take Jam Miller and Daniel Hill and turn them into one running back...........that would be a Derrick Henry. Unfortunately, ya can't do that.

This should include the caveat that they use RB's differently. In spite of pointing out how they were used in Washington, people expected something different. Beats me as to why...

Terrible? Hyperbole. Each had a trait or two that was SEC caliber. They didn't have an APB which we talked about, in depth, before the season kicked off.
#4 #26 #28 wouldn't get minutes at UGA unless it was against someone like Mercer.

Jimothy Lewis (OL) is expected to commit today or tomorrow to Bama will add much needed depth in that area could push for starting role inside at guard, IMO could be our LG option but will likely be in a battle there

Breakdown of the film here:

I like him vs the run, he's very quick for an OL player, pulls very well and knows how to identify his block and attacks the block in the run game with strength and movement. Needs to play with a better base, sometimes falls over, but does always seem to get his block for the run game side.

Pass pro needs some work. He's doing well and engaging the blocks but he's "catching" as people like to put it in a lot of situations, he'll get bull rushed or swam/clubbed giving the defender that much space. Kick back, and engage, if the defender is sagging off like that be violent with your hands more instead of catching him into your chest attack his chest and disrupt his momentum.

I still like him has a guard option for our pulling game and he'll have an easier time in Pass pro inside IMO, he feels like an aggressive road paver, would pair well with Peak on the left side IMO if we get Peak.

Bama is after Mercer Safety Carmelo O'Neal he is scheduled to visit tomorrow most teams after him see him as a DB transfer not a safety (This may be good, may mean Bray Hubbard is leaning towards returning for another year. Safety class is deep this year and Saab is coming back too)

Bama just offered Tony Diaz out of UT Rio Grande Valley - He is expected to garner some attention, already visited Illinois and Kentucky, going to Iowa soon also. Supposedly he'll be a possible target for more schools as well.

Ethan Stangle (ST/LS) - Likely to commit today or tomorrow the best long snapper in the portal. Bama bound.

I don't understand how this is related to what I posted.
OK Cowboy

You know folks so you get them on the phone with this cat today. He is #23 for Montana State (RB)

I have watched this cat about 3 times this year and I don't understand why he isn't playing with the big boyz. He has football savvy and speed.

Hate to lose Horton, but with Simpson leaving it was a possibility. He will be highly sought after but also carry a big price tag. When he left Miami, he was already getting some 2nd round grades by scouts.
Yea, the problem with Horton for this year was that he'd be breaking in a new QB and he would be paid more than he's worth. He'd make less going to the draft right now so he wants to hang in College, find a proven QB for a year and hopefully raise his stock.

JMO but what I see of Horton reminds me of a Coach Bryant quote.

“People who are in it for their own good are individualists. They don’t share the same heartbeat that makes a team so great. A great unit, whether it be football or any organization, shares the same heartbeat.”
When you are in “it” for yourself, others know it and are resentful. He may end up with a QB that knows what he’s about and won’t feed him the ball….

crop

Homeboy is 37, but that haircut makes him look like a 49 year old HS coach. :ROFLMAO:
Looking over his bio, was QB at UAB and has been with QB's and co/offensive coordinator positions most of his young career. I like this move. Will be interesting to see how he does.
