🏈 2026 Alabama Roster Management Chart and Portal news

You have to keep in mind some of these guys were told they were not going to fit well into the plans. I mean just on the OL specifically, UA had 3 spots open up automatically... the guys behind them on the depth chart then bolt? A revamp was coming.

And this, in year 3, is now going to be 90%+ DeBoer guys. For better or worse, this will be the roster he, Morgan, and Welton have built. That means results have a heavier weight to them. Here's to hoping they are making the right moves... on and off the field.

It'll be his quarterback finally, so we'll learn about what his eye regarding talent will be.

I am still looking for the mindset that shows the competitive character that we are alabama we are going to keep coming at you for 60 minutes. We will mentally make you quit because of the physical pressure we put on you. I do not think CKD has it in him in terms of that kind of mental makeup. I am not saying he is not a good coach or even a highly competitive person but seems like scheme is the recipe he thinks will beat you but maybe that has been out of necessity the last two years. We will see as the clock is ticking.

Re: the Vols and Simpson, they absolutely were wanting him. I look at it similar to the situation we saw with OSU and UM waniting DeBoer... they made it clear they would take him off Bama's hands... doesn't mean it was going to happen. But Ty had plenty of options.
There is a part of me what wishes he would have followed the same route at Jalen Hurts. IF he could find the right team he could have made some bank and possibly improved his draft position.

A part of me.

Hate that we are losing Ty to the nfl. I get it though, go get paid.

As for UT, I’m glad he’s going pro and not there.

I’m really curious to see how Russell does. Hopefully he’s everything he is billed to be and didn’t get the Bama “bump” as a prospect.

Mack didn’t look too bad either in the bowl game.

Nothing against Mack, but I'm all in on Russell. I hope he wins out and takes the wheel. Mack has the build and looks like the prototypical NFL QB, but something I have seen consistently out of him is low throws on intermediate and short routes. Every time he has played, even during garbage time, he has come in and thrown low causing misses or the receiver unable to get the ball and get up field quickly. There may be less growing pains with Mack because he has a miniscule amount of experience more than Russell, but I think we are better off to take our lumps with Russell and in a year or two (if we are lucky) have a field general.

A good chance it would have been following the route of Nix and going to Oregon… assuming Moore does move on which is the feeling. But they’d have paid him handsomely. I’m glad he’s not transferring though. He’ll be fine.

No part of me wants to see him at another school. Hurts got beat out, glad he had success elsewhere. Ty would be different.
He is different.

There are many times where I've thought "this is the last kid I'm going to see actually grow up with/through the program." And by that I mean a kid I followed when he was in high school through his committment. It's this part of following Alabama football I miss the most.

It may be Graham instead of Ty as my "last action hero," so to speak.

I understand the OL struggles hurt Ty, but JMO is the lack of a hoss RB was much worse. A great RB helps the OL and the QB.

The evaluations by Nick and Kalen on RB's was terrible. Should have went a bought a hoss RB instead of Horton.

Fact is every year you need to take a REAL look at your starting RB. If he isn't elite, then go buy one.

Is that even his "style" of game? I've not seen that from his stent at Washington and Fresno. I think you are wanting a Saban style team and that's not what you're going to get from CKD in my opinion.

This should include the caveat that they use RB's differently. In spite of pointing out how they were used in Washington, people expected something different. Beats me as to why...

Terrible? Hyperbole. Each had a trait or two that was SEC caliber. They didn't have an APB which we talked about, in depth, before the season kicked off.

The evaluations by Nick ... on RB's was terrible
Maybe one day it will be revealed what happened with Saban's last few recruiting classes. I want to know how or what changed in his process. Did he begin delegating more of his recruiting evaluations and decisions? I do remember him saying his age being used against him in recruiting wars. So maybe that explains it. But, I mean, in his last natty against UGA, we were relying on a bunch of scrubs except Bryce at QB, Robinson at RB, and Anderson at DE (We lost Williams at WR early in the game). That was easily Saban's worst roster, top to bottom, to play in a Natty. And since then, nothing has really changed with our roster. Like that season, we still can't run the ball. We've been reliant on our QB to do everything on offense. It's been that way since Bryce. Our defense stopped being elite. We lost our physicality and our elite playmakers.
