| GAME THREAD 🏈 2022 - '23 Bowl Season 🏈 Game(s) Thread

I may be in the minority opinion here, but I have said it before and I will say it again, Lane Kiffin is over rated. He is not that good of a coach and I certainly would not pick him to succeed Saban by any stretch of the imagination. If Kiffin took over at Bama it would be worse than the Dubose years.

There's one key, for any team, to beating a Kiffin coached squad.

@Brandon Van de Graaff you're a 'Backs fan, right?

As I've said, I'm not a big fan of football in a baseball stadium—mostly aesthetics. One thing I've come to the conclusion of as well...it's easier to slip on the baseball turf. I'd bet different cutting heights.

Sorry... been under the weather for a couple days. I don't mind the games being played in baseball stadiums all that much. I kinda like the one they play in Fenway. Wouldn't want a playoff game being played in one though.

Re: the grass at Chase Field, I only watched most of the 1st half of that game before I went to bed... but that grass would have been brought in before the bowl game, strictly for the bowl game. The Diamondbacks switched to a synthetic turf a few years ago because they were spending too much trying to keep the real grass alive and well for the entire season(s).

I'll tell you irritates me about these bowl games, it seems like 3 out of 4 that I've watched (maybe my sample size is skewed), has women doing the play by play. So annoying. And before anyone comes at me with any misogynistic bullshit, just know they'd never do it for the playoffs. The NFL. March Madness. etc. It is only forced on us with lower level bowl games so they can check off some boxes at ESPN and Disney headquarters.

The stupid shit I know because I fell down this rabbit hole the other day.

Three of the 25 games so far have had a woman as PBP: Mowins twice and Tiffany Greene (Birmingham Bowl.)

I've seen all 3 then. I know 2 this week for sure. But it does seem like more than that. I haven't watched may of the evening games, mostly bits of pieces of the day games. Did see a bit of Arky/KU last night between some basketball games with Mullen in the booth.

No more this season unless there's a last minute change. I've kept an eye on practically every game: majority muted. Hart's crew has the late game today and I know Wes Durham has the early one. I can't remember who has PBP this afternoon; Orlovsky is the color guy.

I know Tess has UT vs Clemson so there's automatic mute. Matt Barrie has the Kentucky game: muted. The team with RGIII has the Cotton: muted.

Would rather have Mowins than RG3. Today, the only one I might sample is Texas/Washington.

Yep. Another reason....to pass....for me on bowl games...
Probably same a** that called me racist because i dont believe in tearing down historical statues...will call...me..maybe us...misogynistic...
...but....."it is what it is"

Not sure about the other ESPN bowls, but noticed this here Pinstripe Bowl halftime was the TicTok halftime report...the hell? Guess they got the clout huh?...Nothin' shuts those political views down faster than all those greenbacks.

Observation and prediction on Venables. With several weeks to do so, he has OU extremely well prepared to play FSU. After he watches film on Big 12 and OOC opponents during the off season, OU will be OK (pun intended :D) with him as HC.

Yankee stadium is a disaster. I've seen better fields after the middle buster has turned the taters.

I didn’t see the UNC/Oregon game last night that was in Petco Park but the turf was apparently and issue there too. I don’t know anything about sod, but I’m guessing they are going cheap with the one time use grass and/or it isn’t having time to take root.
