When you have a successful program expect some things to come along with that:

Mel Tucker has left the Defensive Coordinator position for a head coaching job at Colorado.

Jim Chaney has left as Offensive Coordinator to take the same role at Tennessee with higher pay.

Mel is taking Jay Johnson, the "quality control offensive coach" and Tyson Summers, the "defensive quality control coach" with him to Colorado.

It will be interesting to see if Coach Smart can continue to "keep chopping" or whatever his silly catchphrase is, while replacing significant portions of the staff every year.

Georgia.......Kentucky offensive coordinator Eddie Gran has been offered the offensive coordinator job, per Matt Jones of KSR. Jones adds that Gran has been offered over $1.1 million per year and would have complete control of the offense. Update> Sources tell FootballScoop the offer has been extended to Gran. As of this morning, sources tell FootballScoop Eddie was strongly considering remaining at Kentucky; but that decision was not final. Will update when we hear more.

South Carolina......Defensive line coach Lance Thompson is not expected to be retained reports Josh Kendall. We have been hearing the same for some time and hear Will has already picked Thompson’s replacement. Stay tuned….

Kentucky..Offensive coordinator Eddie Gran has announced that he is staying with the Wildcats. Did Gran actually turn down the Fighting Kirby's?....sure sounds like it. Lets see how much salary increase he received to stick with Big Blue.
