Some are having an issue with "let the foot off offensively" and that may just be the terminology. They certainly took the air out starting in the second quarter and went with a more methodical approach. Even though it only resulted in a total of three points the 12 minutes taken off of the clock in the last drive of the first half and the first drive of the second dictated a lot in that game. the seven minute drive to end the first half...game was essentially over.
There's a distinct different in top of possession per drive in the second half as compared to the first. The offense was still moving the ball, but the methodology was certainly different.
It was the intensity and aggression we came out with. We had a mindset to run them off the field and that's what we were doing, literally. They were confused, disoriented and discombobulated in general. That's what happens when you get punched in the mouth and it queue's a lot of emotions you hadn't planned on. Taking the air out of the ball is always an option that we can implement anytime. Keeping the foot on the gas means we look like Mike Tyson when he got an opponent wobbling, you go for the kill. We decided once up by 4 scores to start boxing.
