| CURRENT EVENTS You will get chipped – eventually

Any updates on this over the last five years?
Even this article really calls it garbage.

For now, Three Square Market, or 32M, hasn’t offered concrete benefits for getting chipped beyond badge and log-on stats. Munster says it was a “PR stunt” for the company to get attention to its product and it certainly succeeded, getting the small start-up air play on CBS, NBC and ABC, and generating headlines worldwide.

With NFC on most every phone now, there is little reason for companies to want to sell ships that people have to have inserted into their bodies. Those inserted chips only last so long and have to be maintained and replaced, just like pet chips they can migrate, the body can reject them, etc. Yes some tattoo places are selling it as a way to not need NFC, but it isn't catching on. The real danger here is the push to make vaccine records (and some medical records) onto the chip and require that for travel.

I think the real advance is more in things like Neuralink, a brain implant showing good results in helping paralyzed people to work with technology to be able to speak, text, etc more easily.
