I just found that the Southern Electric Company has to do some work on the sub station. The last time I did get a letter from our electric company about this the power was off for about 6 hours. Tallapoosa River Electric Cooperative, is the one we use. Anyway it will be off from 9-to around 3pm.

I was over budget - a good bit - when I built our house seven years ago. Costco had the Honeywell 22k whole house natural gas generators on for just over $3,000 (they are made by Generac). Hate I didn't pull the trigger, they are much more now.

Yeah they're not cheap. But I bit the bullet and had one installed. It's come in handy a few times. Yeah it always takes the internet (modem/router) to come back up, but that's just a mild inconvenience compare to before having a generator.

And I told myself if I ever get to build a house, a generator would be built into the cost.
