🌎 You have to live in 1 state the rest of your life with these stipulations...

You asking what constitutes as having lived in a certain state?
Yeah, I am. IE: A kid stays with one of his parents (divorced) from the end of one school year to the beginning of the next. I mentioned Indiana earlier. I spent two summers up there with my dad. We spent quite a bit of time one summer at a rented condo in Florida instead of Indiana. I want to say that FL time was over two months.

Those hurricanes could get costly at 250k a day, be trying to figure out any way to get away without crossing the state line.
Some 20 years ago I helped a friend put in the truss work, framing, etc. on a "Hurricane Proof" house; advertised to withstand up to 300mph gusts. It was a two story structure, with garage parking, that was round: concrete exterior.

I'll allow the exemption. I spent about 8-10 weeks one summer summer ('90) living in Hueytown before moving to the coast, and I don't really ever consider myself having "lived" there. It was more of an extended stay.

Nice weather. Good food. Hot women. A little bit diverse in terms of geography. Plenty of golf, fishing, etc. Plenty of things to do with kids, like Disney. Within the SEC footprint, so Bama will play sports there at times. Pro teams in every league, some multiple (plus spring training), so there's that to enjoy in person. You also get the Keys and technically, Flora-Bama.
He could probably do without the torture. 😛
