Thoughts?

Maryland is at Michigan today. It's the third time these two schools have played in Ann Arbor and Marland has lost all three. All three years Michigan ended the season ranked in the top ten.

My thoughts, Jill? How long has it been since Michigan was ranked?

If the college football playoff system is ever expanded to 8 teams, some of these cupcakes will have to go anyway. I think that a 12 game regular season plus a conference championship game followed by 3 playoff games is simply too grueling for the players.

Nothing anywhere good comes from playing a cupcake team. It it football welfare at the least. It also causes the better team to think they can lower their standard. There might be some value for resting up for the next game, however we will loose the edge that we will need for the next game. No style points or no real challenge.

You can't play up to a cupcake.

I like cupcakes. Especially with that whippy frosting... My wife also told me that cupcakes have to go away and I have to get back to the gym I'm paying for but not going to. This really sucks.

I think Oregon playing Colorado is like us playing Western Carolina. No challenge whatsoever. And let's not dare get into the ACC and Big Ten schedules because their lower tier programs are as bad as games as the cupcakes we play. Rutgers, Wake Forest, Illinois, Syracuse etc. see, I can go all day.

We were penalized. Cheap shots from a POS FCS school cost us several key players in the game yesterday and may have cost us both Vogler and Stewart next week.

I hope Saban calls the WCU president and tells him where he can shove his paycheck and that he will personally call each SEC AD and tell them not schedule WCU any time soon. WCU plays these games for money...What would WCU do then?

To the point of the article, I hate that we schedule FCS teams. We shouldn't be playing them during the season.

I don't see a difference in loading up the front of the schedule with cup cakes or littered throughout the season. I'd also say that Michigan should be worried about scheduling real teams in the first week of the season vs Appalachian State...not sure there is a difference in playing WCU or App State.

And comparing WCU to Colorado is silly, there is a huge difference between FBS and FCS schools, in terms of recruits, financial commitment, state funding, etc.

Football fans are punished by having Michigan football on TV this year.
