Forgotten in all of the euphoria and excitement since the end of the game is IMHO, one player who had a lot more to do with the victory than people might think.

P. J. Fitzgerald

You guys know who returns punts for Texas right? Arguably the one player that Texas had on the field that could have beaten us was Jordan Shipley. I remember being at the game and seeing Shipley call for the fair catch time and again and just breathing a sigh of relief each time. Mission accomplished.

With the special teams melting down, P.J. was the one bright spot, and IMHO, he played a HUGE role in our victory by consistantly hogtying Shipley.

I agree 10000x! I said that right after the game. He had a great game and like always kickers are the most overlooked on a team, until they screw up.

Dead on correct....he has ben instrumental in several victories...especially last years LSU game..that one really sticks out.....not to mention the tackle on Floridas James ( I think ) in the SECCG this year.....That would have certainly went for TD if not tackled.

And you know who we forgot? Eryk Anders. All he did was sack and force the fumble that won the game.

Dareus will be known for the picksix, but Anders played like a madman all night.

Like Fitzgerald, he got it done all year.
