📽 /🎵 Yes. You would divorce your wife. Marriage material here.

That's cool, but not a chance.

I'm marrying a GODDESS.

You did give me a great idea here, for our reception, though.

Fun story: a couple months ago I was on a fiber repair trip in Columbia, MO. Last night there, and I wanted to blow off some steam. I love and prefer playing and singing in a band, but karaoke is a quick-fix of a bandaid for artistic outlet for me, since I travel too much the last few years to be in a band.

I found a student/Gen-Z (with a few straggling hipsters) bar that was doing Karaoke on this particular Wednesday. 2 separate bars, one in the karaoke room with about 70 kids in there. Some fairly talented singers there, obviously a couple of music/theater majors with vocal skill and solid stage presence. GREAT sound system. So much easier to get into it when there's a good sound setup with a competent DJ that knows his stuff.

I had a couple cocktails and craft beers, and jumped up on the mic when it was my turn and covered this one. Didn't know what to expect, busting out an 80s tune like this with this crowd. But, I didn't care too much as this was my first time singing in public in like 2 years... I NEEDED to release this steam myself. I stopped by the fucks store on the way there, and they were sold out. So I had none to bring.

That iconic keys intro started, and the crowd started smiling with a few hoots. Halfway thru the first verse, kids were yelling. I saw then responding, started working them and had them on their feet, clapping, and joyously singing the chorus with me.

Place was rocking, completely unexpectedly.

Not bad for a 48 year old dude singing a high tenor song like that.

I love covering Journey nearly as much as covering Breaking Benjamin...lol
