I hate Stoops. It dates back to the 2003 NC game. He was down at halftime to LSU and the sideline reporter asked him how he was going to get some points in the 2nd half against the #1 defense in the nation and he replied, "We are the #1 defense in the nation, they are only the #1 scoring defense". Hmmmmm, least yards or least points, hmmmm. I take least points. He's a cocky Goob. I would love to see him get outcoached for the 2nd year in a row.

He is a nipple but I like OK. They are alot like us for the most part.

Other than their NC win Bob Stoops has lost every BCS bowl game he has coached.

The onside kick was the catalyst in the 3rd Q. Real dumb move on that one by Stoops.

I've got to disagree with you on that one S. I noticed a few times in the first half that WVU didn't have anyone in the center of the field on kick-offs, and, they were a good 15 yards back. The kicker screwed up on that one, IMO. Heck, the ball went, 7-8 yards...rolling no less?!?

I wonder if winning non title game bowl games just isn’t that important to Stoops? I’ve always heard that while Spurrier was at Florida he always approached bowls, where no championship was on the line, very casually and allowed players to enjoy themselves. This helped him make sure he had their commitment when they were preparing to play a rival or compete for a championship. Stoops may have a similar philosophy.

Did anyone else see how many times OU was holding last night? I mean they did not even seem to be trying to play it off. Just grab a jersey and not let go.

It was some of the more lopsided officiating I have seen. The OU limemen were holding on about every other play, and while they did have like 13 or 14 penalties, they missed a lot of holding calls. I kept replaying one in the 3rd Quarter where the O-lineman had the D-lineman's facemask and jersey. The D-lineman was still running after the QB with his head turned sideways and his jersey stretched backwards a good foot. A ref was right there and chose not to flag them.

Also, did anyone else disagree with the touchback call on the muffed punt? I thought the way the ball made it into the endzone this should have been a safety. I will go read the rulebook becuase I might be wrong on that.

 Huh, what? I don't understand that word.

I didn't like the call because of the circumstances at the time. OU had come down the field twice in the 2nd half and cut the lead to 20-15. They had stopped WV twice in 2nd half as well(both times 3 and out if my memory is correct). It was starting to look like a totally different game in the 1st part of 2nd half.

Oklahoma was back to playing power football. And then the poor onside kick (one in which the announcers said they'd only tried once this year). Well, we all know what happened then. WV went down and scored to make it 27-15 and then the momemtum was all back to the Mountaineers.

I just think the best thing would have been to keep playing the 3rd Q with strong D. WV hadn't done a thing on offense in 2nd half before that. Then again I'm one that would always run on 3rd and short. :)

I understand completely what you are saying here. But, I also understand what might have happened if the onsides kick would have been successful and they had scored again. I'm sure he was thinking about the Pitt game when they were hit in the mouth a few times in the 1st quarter and as the game went on the life drained out of them.

It was a gamble that didn't pay off. One of those reasons we say a game can come down to one or two plays.

Remember when they visited T-town and that fake punt took the wind out of our sails? Very similar situation.

T, do I remember?! Little tiny pieces of my heart are still in the stands in Bryant-Denny from that very moment.
