🏈 With McElwain gone (apparently) - any thoughts on who should replace him?

^^ i would prolly vomit if we hired Oregon's OC and Coach Saban would prolly slit his wrists before he brought the spread here...

we dont have even CLOSE to the type of personnel u need to run that offense. im not even gonna get into how much i hate the spread, lets just leave it at we don't have the personnel to run it and i doubt Coach Saban has ANY desire to run it anyway. hes always ran the Pro Style offense.

I support this mesage

He wouldnt have to run a spread.....I would suspect he knows how to run something similar to what we run with our personnel. He seems quite capable.

The only problem with Paul Chryst from Wisconsin is that he is a Wisconsin alum. Doubt that he would leave there for another OC position. Maybe if he gets a HC shot somewhere.

I think he sees a better opportunity to use Bama as a springboard. Saban would prep him to be a HC better than Bielema.

I know this is a little off topic, (and may be a sensitive issue) but when anyone mentions Bielema, does anyone else hear Bulimia? Maybe Chryst is tired of people thinking he has a problem with bulimia. I'll quit now.

I think we hire from within and promote Groh up to OC. Longshot that i've heard thrown around is Mark Helfrich from Oregon. Supposedly some ties with Saban somewhere (I think they knew each other from Toledo maybe?). I highly doubt it but i remember he was a surprise hire at Oregon because he was more of a pro style/ multiple back type OC and he learned the spread with Kelly at Oregon. Would be cool to have an OC with that variation of kowledge.... but I still think its Groh
