Basically, he walked out of a Publix grocery store with $32 worth of food (crab legs) that he didn't pay for, he "forgot to pay". Citation rather than arrest.

A friend of mine posted this update about Shameis a little while ago:

11:30 Update: A source inside Florida State's program says that Winston will be fined $30, required to do community service, and will be suspended from the baseball team until his community service is completed.

If that's true, that is so shameful... Complete BS!

Why is his punishment so much of a joke? Normally you get a small fine and community service, he's no different than anybody else other than he's a QB on a college team and he's really well know

Publix basically did him a favor and allowed a civil citation in lieu of theft charges. In the end, it doesn't amount to much either way... it's another mark against his character (which hurts him the most), just saves him from getting processed at the county jail.
