🏈 Why should we expect Alabama to win?

My question now is all of the negative "Alabama doesn't stand a chance" posters on here (which shockingly was several) are they going to switch their tones to be "sunshine pumpers" now?

At this time in my life, I'm convinced this negative, sky is falling stuff is in their DNA and they are just following the coded instructions. Probably like they do in every other crisis in their life. Just be happy in your own case that your book has a different set of instructions written down. They'll never make good generals but a few learn to find their way. Do what you can.

Funny thing is my dad has always been one of those people, melts the hell down anytime something even remotely negative happens on the field. Yet he is the polar opposite in his personal life. Hes the Jalen Hurts of tough life situations lol

When I've read through comments--on several sites, mind you--and see the "sky is falling" types of comments I've thought "I'd love to play this guy in golf." I see the personalities as ones where I could make a comment like ...

"Ya know, the face is open when you're coming through. Perhaps, you need a stiffer shaft on that driver." I can see them on the next box thinking about the face, thinking about the shaft...then finding themselves trying to get out of the woods.

Fried or roasted?
I'll go fried!

The defense did an amazing job. Still not thrilled with Hurts. He missed opportunities with wide open receivers. This could have been a walk away blowout if he had the long ball dialed in.

Also, the play calling was better, but why we,were even attempting to throw the ball late in the game is a complete head scratcher.

Saban seemed to agree by tearing Daboll's ass up on the sideline.

However, overall a great win.

I WAS WRONG!!!!

And I'm thrilled about it.

I never said they didn't stand a chance. I said I didn't trust Hurts and the defense would have to play lights out to win.

I wasn't far off.

The defense was spectacular. Check

Hurts, still can't make deep throws, so thankfully, the defense bailed him out again.

Far from a "sky is falling" mentality.

It's just honest evaluation

I feel much better about playing Georgia than Oklahoma. We are built for Georgia. I expect a low scoring affair.

Hurts "cant make deep throws" isn't an honest evaluation. Not even in the least bit. And your posts were the definition of the "sky is falling."

Until we beat them they are world beaters as far as I'm concerned.

Clemson was able to beat Auburn. Auburn beat us in every aspect of the game. We were out played and out coached. Totally out classed.

All the sunshine pumping will not will a win.

Clemson has looked solid, we have looked shaky as hell lately.

Bama can win, but it will require the defense being in position and Hurts executing under pressure. He will have to trust his receivers to make plays. They will not be open by 5 yards.

As I was saying...

And interestingly enough before your sky is falling posts you hadnt posted at all since February...

With a national championship game a matter of a few days away is too much to suggest we move along to UGA and leave Clemson in the rear view mirror?

I don't post much here. I spend too much time at another forum (not Bama related). I usually just check in here for news and whatnot.

My observations are correct. The flee flicker among other throws were a perfect example.

Or I could just show up and say "Bama is awesome! Sheer perfection! Nobody can beat Nick and his boys! Golly gee it's great to be a Tider! Hurts is totally awesome!" That better?

Truth is the defense bails Hurts out most of the time.

Clemson seemed like a solid team to me and before last week looked better than us.

I was wrong. Plain and simple. I'm glad to admit it, but I was right about the defense.

Why don't you refresh my memory of all the big time throws Hurts makes weekly?

BTW, my sky would not fall over a college football game. ;)

If you aren't a regular here, don't waste your time questioning Hurts.

You can talk about it all you want as far as I'm concerned. But you talk in extreme. Your summation of posters is just another extreme. I'll try to meet you in the middle, see if you can get there?

If Bama had gotten behind in this game or found themselves in a scoring fest like the last 2 years, do you think Jalen would have continued to play to the defense? The score was 24 to 6 with a few minutes to go in the 3rd quarter and the defense was totally in control, what risk-taking would you have dialed up for Jalen?

Might be easier if you provided some facts about the throws someone other than Hurts HAS made. Big time throws. Also, what makes you feel you deserve anyone to spend time on poking holes in your comments when you don't intend on spending much time on here anyways? Also, please provide more names of guys that have bailed us out on third down with his feet more times than we can count. I'll be interested in your list.

In a game like last year, I don't think he could pull it out. If he makes a few throws early Monday night, it would have been a complete blowout. BTW, Daboll was still calling passes late in the game which had me yelling at my TV! There was absolutely no reason for us to throw even one pass on the 4th Quarter. Give it to our horses and run out the clock.

I'm only replying because of inflammatory comments on my posts. I gladly showed up afterward to eat my crow. Then Birdman wants to keep harping on what I said before the game.

To answer your question, we haven't had great quarterback play in a long time. Thankfully, we haven't needed it.

I think McCarron would do much better on this team than Hurts. IMO, they are trying to make Hurts something that he is not. Our offensive play calling seems forced.
