🏈 Why should we expect Alabama to win?

In a game like last year, I don't think he could pull it out. If he makes a few throws early Monday night, it would have been a complete blowout. BTW, Daboll was still calling passes late in the game which had me yelling at my TV! There was absolutely no reason for us to throw even one pass on the 4th Quarter. Give it to our horses and run out the clock.

Really, is that what you saw in the Miss State game when Fritzgerald moved the ball and scored a ton of points at will? Every score was met head-on by Jalen and he kept answering with some incredible throws downfield. The last drive in crunch time to Ridley and Smith was cool, calm and on time.

And you're right about the 4th quarter in the clemson game because they never came close to threatening our defense. So much like Custer at Little Big Horn, Daboll had that butt chewing coming.

I'm only replying because of inflammatory comments on my posts. I gladly showed up afterward to eat my crow. Then Birdman wants to keep harping on what I said before the game.

To answer your question, we haven't had great quarterback play in a long time. Thankfully, we haven't needed it.

I think McCarron would do much better on this team than Hurts. IMO, they are trying to make Hurts something that he is not. Our offensive play calling seems forced.

I have to disagree simply due to his lack of mobility. The line failed Hurts a ton last year and parts of this year where his legs saved many drives or atleast prolonged them. McCarron will carve you up with time and he proved his worth by winning two Championships, but he also had the best offensive line college football had seen in decades. Hurts is nowhere as seasoned of a passer as we are used to, but where he lacks there he makes up for in other areas.

I can't agree with you here. If you recall, in that last drive last season he had two passing completions that were "explosive plays."

That will likely continue with bird IF, IF the sun comes up tomorrow.
Hurts is a demigod. He's 20+-2?
That's one defense of Hurts that I don't care for. While it is true he's only lost two games as a starter for the Tide it seems to diminish the fact there were another 10 on offense, a bunch on defense, etc.

I'm pretty easy to please with the quarterback position. Maintain control of the offense and don't turn the ball over. With the way these Bama teams have been built under Saban that's all that has been required the majority of the time.
Can Jalen lead a Bama team back from behind with the passing game? Yes. Can we count on him to do it every time? No--but the same can be said for every quarterback that plays.

I really did give Hurts the benefit of being a Freshman last season. I thought he did a tremendous job. Really, all I wanted to see from Hurts this year was progression and I really don't see much.

I like Hurts, I'm pulling for him, I just want to see some evolution on the touch throws.
