does anyone else love the reduced level of celebration after big plays? and when there is celebration, it almost always involves numerous players coming together instead of a single player trying to attract attention to himself. i believe this, my friends, is the trademark of a real team that believes in its abilities and expects success!

I like what I see. It's back to the old days of when you make a good play, act like you've done it before.

my bad. my comments were specifically referring to Bama, not college football in general.

Nah, I completely read that wrong. That was my bad. lol But yeah, I'm with ya on this, I love the players being humble.

Little was made of it in the media b/c it was "after the season" but Nikita's flip in the end zone didn't sit well with Saban. (that ranks as one of my largest understatements of all time)

One of Saban's things with the team this year is he wanted them, after they scored, to hand the ball to the ref and come on back to the bench.

If you noticed Julio's catch against Georgia, it was a simple toss to the ref...a brief meeting in celebration with the team, and then back to business as they all headed to the sideline.

"A business approach to the football game" has applied to more than just JP to whom that phrase is referenced to all the time.

My fear? We'll have some of the drunk, idiots from our south end zone try to attack the goal post in the south end zone after we beat Auburn this year.

Hell, maybe Rammer Jammer isn't such a bad idea if it let's them get their excitement out.

I think I've heard Saban say on more than one occasion...'Act like you've been there before'

Its all about confidence anyway and not false bravado. Saban seems to know the difference and how to instill and teach it at the college level.

Tell me about it. I always look on fans with a measure of disgust when they storm the field. It will be no different if our fans do the same thing.

I don't think we will have that much trouble with drunk and disorderly fans storming the field. At Bryant Denny especially. First, we have top notch security down there. Of all the teams that have come in to B-D Stadium over the past decade and upset us, when has one of them ever stormed the field? In all honesty, teams like La Monroe and NIU probably didn't have enough fans there to make a dent, but still.......

However, a win over Auburn, especially something really really lopsided, could cause Tide Fans to stay there until the wee hours of the morning. I know I'm going nowhere when Rammer Jammer gets started up as the defeated barners leave the field!!!!

i like it when a rb scores and celebrates with a lineman or if we get a big hit or sack or pick almost the whole d celebrates

When this happens no matter the year I'll be one of the last to leave. I will take all of my years of frustration out on that one RJ. FWIW when it happens I think it needs to continue on and on....not just a 2-bar RJ. More like 5,6,7. :)

I agree with Terry about the Nikita "flip". I still can't understand how a flag wasn't thrown for that. I beleive that Coach Bryant was maybe the first to tell his guys that when they scored to "act like you've been there". It also goes along with whether you'll get another chance to score too. Somewhere in the mid 80's with Miami, the whole idea of celebrating went crazy. I'm glad to see us get back to those ways. Scoring is exciting and they should show some excitement. Just act like you've been there.

Yes, act like you've been there before. There's way too much ego in sports, and in other parts of our culture.

yeah i like the way they act like they've been there before. There's plenty of time to celebrate after the games in the locker room. The field of play is for business, not pleasure.

I can't even imagine how loud that Rammer Jammer will be. There better not be any idiots coming on the field after beating Auburn. Oh yeah, I said after too. :D

i do like the new rule. i love the fact it has brought back act you been there attitude. i don't like all the commentators saying that it was ruining the game(ESPN)by making them drones.

I don't see anything wrong with tearing down the goal post after something BIG(not every game but beating Auburn would be a big deal). People say ppl could get hurt, well noone forced them to get out there and if its your choice and you get hurt its your fault.

You are only 21, so probably don't realize this... but ALABAMA does not tear down goal posts. ALABAMA doesn't even play on Thursday nights.

Yes, but it took and act of war for that game to be delayed and had to be rescheduled for a Thursday night because of schedule conflicts.

Just because it's never been done doesn't mean it never will happen. Yeah Im glad we dont play Thursday games but IF we win out through Auburn we are pretty much in the NCG so something to celebrate.
