🏈 Where are we bowling?

A lot depends on the SECCG and the LSU/Arky game. As it stands now.....

1. Auburn - 12-0
2. LSU - 10-1
3. Arkansas 9-2
4. Alabama 9-3
5. South Carolina 8-3
6. Mississippi State 7-4
7. Florida 7-4
8. Kentucky 6-5

9. Tennessee 5-6
10. Georgia 5-6

11. Ole Miss 4-7
12. Vanderbilt 2-9

So, if Tennessee holds on against Kentucky today and Georgia beats Georgia Tech tonight, we have 10 bowl eligible teams. If not, we have 8.

Auburn winning the SEC and LSU beating Arkansas would put us in the best bowl position. In that scenerio....

BCS - Auburn
Sugar - LSU
Capital One - Alabama
Outback - South Carolina
Cotton - Arkansas

If USCe wins the SEC and Arkansas beats LSU? It could get CRAZY. My guess....

Sugar - South Carolina
BCS at large - Auburn
Capital One - Arkansas/LSU
Outback - LSU/Arkansas/Alabama
Cotton - Alabama/Arkansas/LSU

I really think Arkansas lands in the Cotton either way because of logistics. I also think, regardless of the last 2 big games, we'll be bowling in Florida this season. Right now, we are projected to play Michigan State in the Capital One. That could make for a good story line. With Nick Saban, Bobby Williams and Mark Ingram, we have a lot of ties to Michigan State.

Whereever we end up...I just hope we SHOW UP and muster up 4 quarters of play because whoever we draw....will be playing to defeat the sitting National Champs. I dont forsee a 2008 Sugar bowl debacle....but I didnt forsee us spotting Auburn 24 and losing either. The Michigan State match-up would be interesting.

I read where, after the Sugar Bowl pick and then Captial One Bowl picks are made, that the Cotton, Chick-Fil-A, and Outback all select at the same time after working things out with the SEC Front Office.

With the Barn all but assured to be in the BCS Bowls, the question is will anyone join them. Should the Barn play for the Title and LSU win against the Hogs, LSU could/should be BCS Bowling as well (likely the Sugar). With the implied losses to Arkansas and USC, this make Bama the obvious pick for the Captial One.

If USC beats Auburn, the USC is to the Sugar and the Barn will end up with an At-large bid. If LSU has beaten Arkansas then the Capital One will take them, leaving Bama Arkansas and Mississippi State as the three most likely for the Cotton/Chick-Fil-A/Outback bidding war. Hogs to Dallas, Dogs to Atlanta, Tide to Tampa. If Arkansas has beaten LSU, then the Hogs go to the Capital One, leaving LSU, Bama, and MSU. Bama and the Dogs still go to Tampa and Atlanta respectively, while LSU goes to Dallas.
