šŸˆ 2025 SEC Quarterback Rankings

Evaluate the quarterbacks by ranking them based on the criteria listed below.

The Proven Commodities: Returning SEC starters with a full season of high-level production, representing the known quantities in a league of variables.

The Blue-Chip Heirs: A highly scrutinized group of former five-star recruits with elite pedigrees but limited starting experience, now inheriting the keys to powerhouse programs.

The Portal Saviors: Productive and experienced quarterbacks transferring from other conferences, tasked with immediately elevating their new teams against elevated competition.

The Wildcards: A volatile mix of journeymen, players returning from significant injury, and high-potential talents with minimal collegiate game tape.

1. Arch Manning, Texas
2. Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
3. LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina
4. DJ Lagway, Florida
5. Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt
6. John Mateer, Oklahoma
7. Taylen Green, Arkansas
8. Marcel Reed, Texas A&M
9. Gunner Stockton, Georgia
10. Ty Simpson, Alabama

I would love to know how you can rank someone that hasn't starter a game? I know that 2,3,5 played last year, I don't remember about 4,6,7,8,9? We all know about Ty.

Garrett Nussmeier, LSU
LaNorris Sellers, South Carolina
DJ Lagway, Florida
Marcel Reed, Texas A&M

Diego Pavia, Vanderbilt
Taylen Green, Arkansas

John Mateer, Oklahoma
Arch Manning, Texas
Gunner Stockton, Georgia
Ty Simpson, Alabama

It's hard for me to rank anyone that hasn't thrown the ball more than 100 times in this league in the top 4.

With that in mind, I don't understand how anyone can say Manning is better than Nussmeier, Sellers or Lagway at this point. He hasn't really done anything yet. His name appears to be the thing that keeps him highly ranked. Now, I might eat my words at the end of the season, but at this point.....no way he's a top 4 qb in the SEC yet. Same with Stockton and Simpson. Both are completely unproven.

I also think Sellers has the potential to be the best qb in the SEC at seasons end.

Manning did start few games last year. We saw limited body of work.

Good topic and question... IMO, while the SEC as a whole lacks an elite QB as of now, as a whole, top to bottom, I'm not sure I ever remember it being this stacked with quality QB's and QB's with as much potential. Ranking them is difficult, there's many ways you can do it and at least with mine, the rankings would differ significantly each time. Rank them on potential? Rank them on where they stand as of now? Rank them as if you were picking a QB from the league to start for your own team? I'll do it this way.... I'll rank them with a blend of how they stand now + their overall potential.

Ohh, I like this. Seller isn't nothing to sneeze at. He's hell..

When I see a QB with 1:2 TD:INT ration againts Tulane ... when I see 12:9 for the season...put me in the corner of wait and see. Literally, he had one SEC game that was a sold performance last year: Ole Miss.

Lagway.
