🏈 What was your single-most favorite Alabama victory ever?

It is almost impossible to not go with the Natty against Georgia. Growing up a Georgia fan, transferring over to Alabama and jumping in the deep end, graduating and accomplishing one of my dream's as a kid, and the rest of my family giving me hell and are all die hard Georgia fans. To beat them on the last play is not to bested by anything else I know. That's too easy though.

I will take the "Rally In Death Valley". I was a student, already booked my hotel room to Miami, just in case. It was my first year at Alabama, I was excited, bought in to everything. I thought my entire plan to finally make a National Championship game was going up in smoke. Remember, grew up as a Georgia fan, wasn't alive during the last title in 1980, so when I had the chance to do it when I started at Alabama I was gung ho and planned something I thought I may only get to experience once in my lifetime. In hindsight we have won two more since then and been to three more, but whatevs. Then we made that last drive and scored. It was the most relieved and unbelievable ending I had experienced to that point. The game tied with my emotions and hopefulness of a Championship push, I was invested. Now yes, we lost the next weekend, and still won the Natty, but it was a weekly deal where emotions were high, we had the best team, and we almost lost it there. I was laying in bed at my momma's house and at home visiting, and when it happened I ran into two other bedrooms to make sure what I saw was actually being seen on the other tv's and actually happening. Yeldon is my favorite player, so that makes it even more special to see a true freshman do what he did there.

I can't name one. There are several that rank together. The wins over Texas and Notre Dame because of the history. The win over Miami because of the drought since Coach Bryant.

A close second--mostly due to a lot of that "Fear the Thumb" crap--is '08's 36-0 throttling of Auburn.

Honestly, to answer this accurately, I'd have to break it down to wins with Bryant, Perkins, Curry, Stallings, DuBose, Shula, and Saban. There's a game--in some cases several--that are lifetime highlights.

As example: DuBose and the win over Florida--Gainesville and Atlanta. Or Shula or Florida. I'd have to really think about Curry. Perkins had a few. While Bryant would require a novel, Stallings would at least be a short story.

for me, it's the 1985 iron bowl. Van Tiffin's 52-yard kick is still my all-time favorite play. i just remember him kicking that ball, it sailing through the air, and then running around outside screaming like an idiot, lol. hell, i may have cried...who knows?

i have the picture from the next day's birmingham news cut out and framed and hanging on my wall. i also have the Daniel Moore print of it.

my mom's is George Teague's run-down and strip of Lamar Thomas in the national championship game vs. miami.

.....it had been drought since 1979.....to many years... Stallings put together a great recruiting class...used Curry's carryovers.....
The 1992 blowout win over The Canes....Miami's fraternity slogan..."we slamma bamma" ....brought back Bama and Bama style football...
....can name so many....
The 1961 throttling of Oklahoma.....with JFK on the Ok side....that was a BEAR statement.....Bama is back.....
Everyone that everyone names.....almost equally important

1993 Sugar Bowl beat down of the Canes I was there it was priceless to see the expressions on the faces on the Cane fans.
Plus it was our first NC since '79.

For sheer entertainment in a win the IB "KICK" was the best - such drama!!!

For the most satisfaction - the 93 Sugar bowl- I was training in Orlando and surrounded by gaturd and cane fans & to finally get another Natty against those teams was wonderful!

Probably the most classic was the 19 77 national championship against Penn State. Two Classic teams. Two Classic coaches. And probably the most iconic play in college football history!!!!

The beat down of ND in 2012. No anxiety just exercising many demons from the losses in the 70's. So many paybacks.

Other notables:
1977 goal line stand, 1992 national championship, The championship game last year when is was over not so much the way it started:) 2009 national championship game, NC after a long drought.
36-0 beatdown of the barn. I was at that game where we shoved the thumb where the sun does not shine:)),
Stallings team beating of UT 9-6 in 1990, actually any win of the viles.
So many good ones...

I would agree with all of this! @TerryP I would say that Coach Curry’s “big win” or wins came in the ‘89 season. At Penn state and then the beat down of the Viles at Legion Field. He also lit UT up in ‘87.

November 24, 2012

Alabama 49
Auburn 0

That point when the camera was on sideline and Saban is firing them up with something like “Don’t you know how much I hate these guys?!”

Chiz was done.
That is a good one but it was 2008.

Tracy Wolfson is the one who reported the story. It was something like "I'll clean this up for TV...Saban just told the team, 'you know how much I hate the <*******> guys!'"

There was a lot going on with Auburn in '12 preceding that game. If you'll also recall, it was the beginning of a tagline used often that was along the lines of "paid, laid, and saved."

I'm like @TerryP so many to list! But if I have to pick one? It would be the The 1975 Sugar Bowl game again Penn. St. 13-6 This game ended to me a very long 0-7-1 bowl games streaks! One other it too is with Penn. St. It is called "desperation block"!

BOOM! There with you sk33tr. The 85 Iron Bowl was the first one I attended. That's the first time I had experienced that kind of euphoria. The 92 NC game is my 1B. All we heard in the quarter those days before the game from those cocky and arrogant Cane fans is that da u was going to kick our ass and "Why are you even here?" (a$$hole...) and my favorite: Can fans would gather around in a circle and twirl their hands, rising up and chanting "C-A-N-E-S! CANES!" My friends and I more than happily fixed that chant for them after the game.
