What is the meaning of the name you have chosen for Roll Tide Bama?

My name is Mike and I was born and raised in Florence, Alabama so I chose Alabama Mike. The home of Newbern's Catfish and Bunyan's BBQ will always be home even though I have been gone from NW Alabama for a long time.

BamaFan334 pretty much speaks for itself as being an Alabama fan, but the 334 is not Montgomery which I'm sure some folks think. When I was younger, AOL Instant Messenger was the cool thing going around, and I was like 11 and I really like Antawn Jamison, the basketball player from North Carolina. Vince Carter was my favorite player at the time, but variations of his name were taken, so I went with jamison334, 33 being his number, and 4 being the next closest available. So I have always used the 334 on the back end of my internet stuff since then. It's also funny with using "Bama", because I'm not a big fan of shorthand, so I always say Alabama, not Bama, and always type out Alabama, not Bama. Except this once I guess.

Ha, I remember when AIM was huge. It was what we did after school from about 5th or 6th grade to the end of high school. I still remember my two AIM names. One was DawkinsGirl20 (for Brian Dawkins). (guess I like using 'girl' in my usernames!)

I honestly miss those days. Away messages, profiles, buddy lists, 'warning' people for shits and giggles, it taking 20 minutes to send a photo, etc. Good times.

came up with it quite a number of years ago.....maybe 2004?...2005?

it's obviously not BAMA-related in any way. i first used it while gaming and it stuck. i started using it on forums and other online-related stuff and now it's what i'm known as. it's even on my license plate on my truck.

what's funny, though, is everyone i tailgate with calls me this name. some of them don't even know my real name. and there were a couple people that thought this was my real name. and even though i've told most of them my real name, they continue to call me by this name.

I'm still not getting it. What do they call you, Skeeter?

Roll tide

Birdman was nickname in high school and I first signed up here in high school (really wish I could change it now) and Shaun Alexander was my all-time favorite player growing up, so I attached 37 to almost everything for a long time. Still to this day I use 37 in passwords alot.

We never used AIM, we always used MSN Messenger.

I guess I'm hooked on phonics. Given that I've been on SEC foreign soil a few times, it's important to have a handle that represents. TUSK as in tough and then whatever. Most of the time I've been TUSKtimes and registered that username on this site. Just couldn't get back in so went with TUSKstuff. If @TerryP wants to work his magic, I'll take the old one back. But I'm flexible.
