Most of it I had seen before. But, one thing caught my eye and made me proud.

If you have seen the pictures of the locker room you are familiar with the insignia (Script A circled by UofA) in the middle. Saban's comments about how that part of the locker room was sacred, that you can't stand on it alone. We stand on this area as a team.

Stirring stuff.

yeah that part kinda got my attention too. im ready for some football!

I had always speculated about Saban's coaching style with his players. It's was cool to see what a great teacher of the game he his. Lots of positive reenforcement. Very impressive.

Ready for football! Roll Tide!

I don't get that channel way out here. Does anyone know if it will be hosted online somewhere?

You can tell he's a players coach. He is like two different people when he speaks to a crowd, and when he talks to the players. I can see why all the kids want to play for him.

"You don't want none of this, 3."

It was great on every level. One thing bothered me though. However brief it may have been, there was a window into the relationship between JJ and Saban and it was discouraging if you have hopes for JJ, as so many do. Coach says as if dismayed, "Where is your head today . . . you keep doing it over and over." After all the rumblings that JJ won't be ready, it was sad to see some evidence to it on national TV.

Sports south is the only place to catch it?

At this moment, I haven't seen it uploaded anywhere. I suspect youtube would pull it since it's a copyrighted broadcast still being shown.

I've seen a few mention uploading it to sendspace. If that happens, I'm sure it will be linked.

A couple of other thoughts about the show last night...

When we had links up on the site of the spring practices one of the most oft asked questions was, "Who is that guy yelling?"

Scott Cochran is featured in a small section of the show in the weight room. Geez, what you saw on the pratice field wasn't an aberration. Cochran is just as vocal in the weight room! You can see the way he motivates these guys to finish and the intensity he has as a direct reflection of Saban.

Secondly, the poster hanging in all the players lockers.

It's a picture of the ULM score and the MSU scoreboard along with these two statements.

Work. Commitment. Perseverance.

And...

"If you continue to to do what you've always done, you will continue to get the same results."

On the other end of the spectrum...

Did you notice the clip of the team warming up before A-day when McCoy quipped to Coach Saban, "You don't have anything to say to me?"

I loved Saban's response. "I don't talk to people who can get the job done." I can imagine how that made McCoy feel. He undoubtedly was encouraged, but at the same time the motivational aspect of that comment was large.

Also, had to laugh at the comment to Hanks. "Nobody is hitting today, you should be good!"

Antoine's comment on what he was thinking when he heard Saban had been hired was entertaining as well. He was thinking about how Saban would do working with college kids under this premise. "He made a grown man cry in the NFL."

All these different sound-bites are coming back to me this morning.

Javy: "I thought he was going to bring aggression back to the program. It was as if we were living on the tradition."

If THAT doesn't speak volumes...

I also liked Javy's comments on how he "loved" this coach, and his coaching style, and that he knew that the coach "loved" them too. I think the players know that he actually cares about them, and does everything in his power to make them successful, not just in football, but in all aspects of their life.

That was absolutley hilarious. I nearly spit an apple all over the tube. He had already crawled all over Hanks for not stretching the field.

I also loved him getting on Smitty when he asked, "do you know how good you could be. You only do the hard things cause you have to, not because you want to." Love to see him challenging our best player.

Specifically, not getting off of a block. I immediately started wondering where he was lined up and who had coverage.
