Wonder if that was my doctor?
Sun Drop is cool? It's been popular in Southern Tennessee since at least the 80s.
My story took place 13 miles west of Athens, store was right before you crossed the Elk River on the right heading west. That's pretty damn close to southern 10rc.
No, he lives over in Decatur. This store use to be a Chevron.Your dad isn't named Jerry, is he?

Could've been then. Can't remember when Mother bought it, late 80's up to '90.I could've sworn my brother worked at that store in the late 80s and it was owned by a guy named Jerry something. He also owned a store in Killen, I think.
When I was a kid, we'd go from Montgomery to Hattiesburg, Ms to visit the grandparents. Always stopped in Meridian, at this particular gas station, and I would get a Sun Drop and a bag of those little peanut butter logs with the stripes on them. That was hog heaven to me.
Mountain Dew is the source of my caffeine when I go fishing. When I was a kid and even in to my early adult years..when I stopped at the Quick Stop or wherever, I always got a Mountain Dew and a Honeybun.
Haven't had a Mountain Dew in probably 10 years now.
Coke with peanuts in it. Reminds me of my grandfather. I think i might have one of those this weekend
I like to find the old glass bottle coke, just regular shelled, salted peanuts. Pour in some, drink it. I love the taste but just because of the memories associated with it. Might not be to everyones likingWait, is that a real thing? I've heard of it but never knew it was real .. So, what, you just straight up drink coke with unshelled peanuts? I DON'T UNDERSTAND. Does it make it taste better?
