🏈 Week One of the 2018 - '19 Bowl season

I'm going to end up going against the chalk on several of these games. There are A LOT of underdogs that cover in the bowl season. A lot of them win outright as well. (something to keep in mind there if you're playing the Sportsbook...the spread isn't your best play.)

Numbers: Over the last ten years the underdog has covered 50% of the time. Out of all of those games, the underdog has won, outright, over 70% of those games. If you're taking the dog, take the money line.

@rick4bama, I'll likely wait until just before the game before making any moves. It all depends on whether Erdely is ready to go. He had a horrible game a few weeks ago that was undoubtedly due to them trying to get by with his shoulder banged up. He's been listed as questionable for several days now.

Terry how’d you get your action after the game started? It was already 10-0 when yours was placed!
I don't know. I see it listed late. I know I put my wagers in about a half of an hour before the kick...

I suspect it's because I was working on the currency/event triggers last night before I left for work and had the 'book' disabled for a few minutes while the game was in the debug mode (basically, put on pause/disabled.) I've asked the author/coder of the add-on the same question. He's in England and it's about 8 in the morning over there. I'd imagine I'll hear from him around lunch--London time. We paid for the game so I know I'll get an answer...just have to wait a few hours.

EDIT:
I strongly suspect when I was working with event triggers (IE: A $100 dollar bonus for starting a thread, etc.) the time to post was put on hold and my wager was left in limbo until the cron job was ran. BUT, I'm not 100% sure.

Since it did register late, I'll adjust my balance to reflect what I believe to be my mistake. Just to be safe, I'll withdraw from the game. Bottom line, I should have waited until this bowl season was concluded before trying a few things.

As a side note: When we first started this game five years ago it was set to award "Bama Bucks" with each action on the forum. I'm considering moving back to that design. When we had that currency system in place, you'd receive a set amount of money for each new thread, each response, each like, etc. The current system awards points, not cash, for each event that is triggered. It's a change I'm contemplating.

I was just messing with you man! I put my bet in just before kickoff and saw that dude had put $400k on the line. Good move. I love the betting option, though I suck.

But don’t change your balance, that’s nuts!
I'm glad you mentioned it. It's a lesson learned, so to speak. I had too many tabs open for one, using two laptops and a daisy-chained monitor didn't help, and then getting distracted a bit watching Madeleine Madden Tidelands on Netflix...

Mult-tasking!!
Considering how long it took to watch an hour long episode (rewind, rewind, and rewind to see what I missed) I can't multi-task if I'm reading something.
