Some were thinking after the Auburn game LSU would jump Bama to No#1 because of beating Texas, Fla.,Auburn. Need to wait till the next two week.

Suppose clemson loses to a unranked opponent. Would the selection committee have the balls to drop them far enough as they did oklahoma? You could argue that they are one of the 4 best teams but the acc has became an absolute joke when it comes to football

Not that it makes one iota of difference but I would say LSwho has played and beaten better teams so far than we have, so it is appropriate. The last time they came to town, we were 1 and they were 2. I will admit to being superstitious so I am quite happy about it.

Yes. Clemson has zero room for error IMO.

You have that one backwards. LSU took over the #1 spot in week five after their win against WVU (replaced OU.)

We never win it all when ranked #1. We always do better when we are on the outside looking in. I think Saban is better able to motivate the players. This causes a hunger and desire that I think is hard to instill in players reading their press clippings when they are sitting atop the college football polls. Going back to 2008 when we were 1 and UF was 2. The following year when the role was reversed, we laid the wood to them.

2011 was a bit of an anomaly with us being 2 vs 1 LSU.....but overall we tend to be a little more hungry when we are on the outside looking in.

My hope is that when the CFB Committee meets, they have us below OSU and LSU.

When the official poll comes out for the college football championship race, I look for the following:

1. Winner between Bama/LSU
2. Ohio St.
3. Clemson
4. Penn St.

I know they will, but how in all honesty can you put the loser of this game with Alabama and LSU outside of the Top 5? LSU has played a very demanding schedule, toughest amongst any challenger. If Alabama loses to #1 , a team that has beaten everyone they have faced, and Top 10 teams at that, how can you drop Alabama too far knowing the talent and ability we have on top of losing to #1? Who has Clemson and Penn State played? Georgia lost to who again? Oklahoma lost to who? Florida may have two losses after this weekend. A loss for either team does not take them out of the Top 5 in my opinion.

Absolutely....new blood is great....blue bloods are better....
Bama not only has lsu...but a trip to AU....will be tougher...
