Can you believe that?!

How ya feeling? What grades could you give the team so far? Are you breathing? Excited? Nervous Depressed?

Next 3 games = Florida, @ Ole Miss, @ Arkansas. I think we can go 3-0 again, and come into the TAMU game ready to rock with a 6-0 record. Whatcha think?

That next quarter is gonna be rough .. TAMU, Tennesee, and LSU. Ouch.

Wow! Didn't really think of it as being a quarter of the way through til I read that. And I have no reason at all to think we won't be 6 - 0 when we play tamu and then 7 - 0 after that.

I give the both the offense and the special teams an A and the defense a B. (If this was 2011, that would be a D.) They look a whole lot like Joe Kines' "bend, don't break" defenses at times. But Paaaaaaaaaaawwwl, they y-UUUUnnng!

I like to think of things in terms of fractions .. I hate math but man I love "fractioning" haha like, "we are 2/3 through the semester" or "we are 3/4 through the year" .. I'm weird.

I think that by the time TAMU rolls around, they will have a L on their record. They've got Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss before us. We are the last game before their bye.

the ole miss game will be a test. it's in their house and after the blanking we gave them last season they'll be looking for payback.

and aTm looks better than they did with manziel. thankfully that one is in our house and it will certainly be a full and very loud house on that day.

the tennessee game is a toss-up, in my opinion. if they play like they did against oklahoma, then we'll definitely win that one. but if they play up to their potential then they could make a game of it. i still think we win either way, but this one is shaping up to be a trap game for us.

lsu is another beast altogether. it's in their house and that is never an easy place to play. and being in baton rouge it will certainly be a night game as they think it will give them an advantage. as well, they will be looking for payback for the last 2 seasons; especially last season since we beat that @ss so bad.

I think that if we can put up points and have a crisp, efficient offense, we will be able to keep up with the (perceived?) threat of TAMU putting up big numbers.

LSU is always a tough game .. especially LSU at home. Gotta respect that home field advantage.

IF IF IF we were to take a loss, I hope it comes earlier rather than later, like against Auburn or Mississippi State. At least we'd have time to make it up and move up again, hopefully. A loss at season's end is death for any playoff hopes we may have ..

Son's wedding events over the weekend (everything went great) and a taxing day yesterday kept me from contributing, BUT I have to note that our season is ONE-FIFTH over, not a quarter: 3/15 equals 1/5 or, for you decimal types, 0.20.

I think we play 15 for our 16th...

RTR,

Tim

I've gotten lost in the thought, a few times actually, of having the banner "first 15-0, first playoff winner" hanging around for a few years as another footnote in the history books.

I think we'd be the second or third 15-0 team. I think it was Yale that went 15-0 that time in 1897. If only Bear Facts was here to confirm it - I think he attended one of their games that year.

Looked a bit. You're right about Yale in that period.

Interesting schedules those years...ever noticed the home versus away schedule? It's a two month schedule basically, two games per week.

I thought I was diving deep enough on the record, didn't get the home-away. I had gone back a while ago to see if Bama was the first 13-0 team (even in the modern era, we weren't due to the HOF game that used to be held), or the first 14-0 team in 2009 (wrong again), and found the Yale of old '97.
