Lack of sacks, per se, is not the real issue to me. To me, a lack of sacks indicates a lack of real pressure on the QB. Now, we've put some pressure on these QB's, but not enough to actually make it to the QB and drop him. Sacks are the result of adequate pressure, and no sacks means not enough pressure. The game plan that Arky had in the 1st half did feature some running, and that too pressure off of Mallett. But, when we scored to make it 20-14, that pressure to score raised again, and he made mistakes because of it. 20-17, pressure went up again to score. This is not Mallett's best feature. Honestly, if UGA was half the team Bama is, Arky would be .500 right now. They will lose again this year.
I'm concerned more about Florida. They seem to have something working on offense, and they have all the motivation to win this time. If we get through this and then SC, we are only halfway through this torried schedule. LSU is going to be tough down there, and Auburn is looking better each week. Then you have to play either SC or Florida AGAIN in the SEC title game. Probably Florida.
This will be Saban's finest coaching job ever if he can get us back to the SEC Title game, let alone winning it.
