🏈 VT RB out: Evans Knee injury

And it is all over a VT board I visit. It is sad news for them. You do not wish that on anyone!

Anyone? Are you sure? There are some dirty players/plays, and I wouldnt mind seeing certain individuals get a payback from karma.

That said, I have nothing against Darren Evans, nor do I want him injured, this is most unfortunate for the Hokies. Whats really sad is that it will probably effect the opener in a huge way, and I had wanted the highest quality game possible in the opener,

No different than last year for them.

"Highly touted redshirt freshman Ryan Williams is now in a position to follow a similar path Evans did last year, when Evans took over for injured starter Kenny Lewis Jr. Williams stole the spotlight in spring practices and was expected to see significant playing time this fall."

I hate that for them. Having torn my ACL, I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Hopefully, he'll come back strong.

And it's the rehab that sucks most IMHO. I tore mine playing raquetball and it took about 2 years to come back from it. Obviously I was not a high-profile athlete who's life depended on it, but the rehab alone takes 3-6 months minimum. Even for college ball players. And that's not counting extenuating circumstances like prolonged pain, arthritis, or infection.

I feel bad for the kid. I wish him a speedy recovery and that he has a long productive career.

I tore mine the first time in high school playing football, went up for a pick and when I landed the knee just went "pop". And then three years ago I tore my other one rodeoing, I was taking a bull away from a fallen rider and I rounded the clown's barrel and same sounding "pop".

Wow sorry to hear that for the young man. I hope that he has a speedy recovery and no complications. This is a big blow to the VTech offense which means Tyrod Taylor has to step up his game alot more. Good luck to him on that!

Evans, from <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Indianapolis, Ind., was the MVP of the Orange Bowl and rushed for 1,265 yards and 11 touchdowns last year. Evans redshirted in 2008.

Am I just reading this wrong? How did he redshirt in 08 and still rack up over 1200 yards? I'm going back to sleep now.
