🏈 Update: Joey Gatewood transfers to Kentucky

I don't blame Gatewood; I'd leave ad well. If Gus is that hard-headed... Just not in the middle of the season.

I have no respect for this and I have no clue why any team would want a quitter like this. Leaving after the season is one thing. This is chicken shit. He cant even redshirt, so there is literally not one reason (other than his wittle feelings are hurt because hes not starting) to bail on your teammates like this. What if Bo Nix tears his ACL this week? He's literally one play away from being the starting QB. You dont like the coach, the offense, the school, whatever, fine transfer after the season. The insane part is Auburn still has to pay this cry baby's tuition, too, while he decides where he wants to go quit at next.

I feel Gus knew Nix was gonna be the guy regardless when he signed due to his dad and boosters pushing him. Gatewood should have seen this coming when Nix committed. Hate he quit, but I do feel politics were involved here more than anything else.

Ten Bears tells me his sauces tell him Guz strung the kid along hoping Gatewood wouldn't transfer after spring drills. Nix was going to be The Man from the time the ink was dry on his scholly. Maybe somebody on the barn baseball team said something bad about Joey. Sometime that can be beneficial when you need to be able to play asap at your new school.

Gus kowtowed to daddy Nix. His boy was the chosen one before the ink dried on his scholarship. There is no turning back and Joey knows it. But there is more to it than just that. Him leaving comes as no surprise, but the timing points to a more serious issue down there. For him to leave now, with the regular season still going on, says quite a bit about what a dysfunctional clusterfuck it is at the cow pasture. Their coach has fucked them yet again. Malzahn does not know shit about QB development. If he did, he wouldn't always be looking for the next hotshot transfer QB. He is an egomaniacal son of a bitch who honestly thinks that taking over the play calling himself was the solution and not the problem. There was a faction of the fan base that was cool with living off of his accomplishments in 2013 and reminiscing about the prayer at jordy hair and kick six. But even they have dwindled down to pretty much nothing. But, they are stuck with this jerk off. That buyout is just too much right now.

Hell fire...Spurrier quit mid season and they all think he is the greatest.....
And as @#80 put it....a tweek on an ankle.... and no backup with PT...
Plus....may split the team .... some POD that he wasn’t given what was promised...
