| GAME THREAD đźŹ€ UNC Asheville vs Alabama 🏀 - 8 CT on ESPNU

In the exhibition game Philon and Omoruyi stood out. Mark sears also but he is just a machine.

To me the D improvment will determine how far this team goes. They show signs of it just need to be consistent. It feels like they will be much better this year but that would not take alot compared to last year.

A few really errant passes early here from young guys. Defense with a few miscues offense a little weird when some guys are on the court. Felt like Diobaute keeps pushing too fast for inside leverage. He went inside and tried to throw it up amongst the trees with guys slapping at the ball. Needs to kick that back outside for the open 3 looks we had.

I like the rotation, the difference will really be felt in the 2nd half when we have fresh guys rotating in still while the other team is strapped to find the depth to keep up with the pace.

Our defense has looked stellar so far, 4 blocks, 5 turnovers created. The only issue has been the 6 turnovers we've given up. Erase some of those and you add to your total and remove from the other team.

Diobaute almost had another turnover he's playing and forcing things way too much. He could've easily just slowed it down but forced it into the corner thank god Reid was able to throw that off the defender and keep possession.

All 7 O boards for UNC Asheville have come against big Cliff. Dude hasn't had good positioning at all on D. Sherrell has been better honestly.
His positioning seems fine from my angle his problem is he's not jumping. He's kinda just assuming he's going to have the height advantage not sure why. He jumps upwards on those and he gets 2-3 of those and snatches them outta the air.

Turnovers are not a surprise. Oats offense tends to have more turnovers. What is a surprise to me is UNC Ashevlille has more offensive rebounds than we do.

Oh and getting open 3 point shots is like shooting free throws for Sears.
