First of all I am from Bham. I just have the unfortunate address of GA.
First, the Georgian prose remark was a jab at the literary Georgian period and simply part of me making fun of the literary persona that I was portraying.

Second, I was just joking, though within that satire were ideas that I do believe in. Btw, my real literary criticism would not have sounded so pretentious nor been filled with such verbose language.

Well right now, I consider this game to be more than about one season. As I alluded to earlier, if Alabama wins Saturday, then this may just become a defining game in Alabama's return to football prominence.
From this point on, every victory Bama achieves the rest of this season will affect its position in both conference & national ranking, media attention, and recruiting success. A Crimson Tide victory against LSU might just be the weight that noticeably tilts the scales back in Bama's favor in many respects.
In fact, a win on Saturday has important implications for not only Bama's program but LSU's as well, implications that could transcend their season, too. Continuing support and unity for Les Miles among the LSU fan base may actually hinge on the outcome of this game, as well as some recruits' decisions where to play. Les Miles is trying to get LSU folks to believe in him as a coach. I truly believe the majority of their fan base still do not, or there wouldn't be such an uproar over Saban coming to Bama. Deep down those Tiger fans realize Saban is the reason they got to the "promise land," and CLM has yet to do that with Saban's players or teams just as talented nonetheless.
This game is about more than just winning the SEC West title. It could actually influence the directions (more so with LSU in an adverse way) these two programs go and the rate at which they get there.
