šŸˆ Turnover Props being used on the sidelines

Time for Bama props to go.....let everyone have it....we dont need it
You pose what I think is an interesting question.

Bama starts the practice with the belt.
The next year it's imitated by other programs.
So, Bama needs to stop using the tool?
But, Miami is the one who got it started last year with the turn over chain? Well that is all I heard last year anyway!

"Imitation is the best form of flattery". So its said...
When Tennessee came out with Garbage can.....i know longer felt flattered...
Yep...i do pose what you thought.... along with the NFL celebrate rule...
And a "tool".....naw.....
My thought.... ( is my age showing or something...then humor me....lol)

Ah, come on now. That's akin to saying employee of the month awards aren't motivational tools. The players take pride in having the belt.

I would hope thats not what motivates them. The belt or chain or trash can dunk is a " good job checkmark" on a play. And its recognition of an individual on a play that may have one of 10 others more worthy. Ie. player intercepts pass caused by ferocious rush or deflection by another.
Anyway. Roll Tide. Beautiful day in Ttown today. Wx cool with blue skies

Always seems to be quite a bit of excitement around them when they go to the sidelines and collect it. Maybe no correlation but the NOT and turnovers have been pretty frequent recently. Not saying the belt causes it but I think it generates genuine team excitement JMO
I agree. @50+yeartidefan, He's describing one of the times I see it as a tool. I think @UAgrad93 and @OldPlayer would agree.

Are you tired of it to the point you'd rather not see it won each week? Is it because of the worn out exposure the chain has brought? I don't get it...not picking on ya, just don't get it.

@50+yeartidefan,

Allow me to go off on a tangent for a minute.

The thing that bothers me about this whole story is how much attention was given to Miami. Now, you might think it was because they were getting all of the attention when Bama started the idea, but that's not the story. It goes deeper with me.

Why is Miami getting all of this attention about turnovers when it's framed under the guise of "nation leading." Literally, I'm hearing "Miami, while leading the nation in turnovers, shares its chain."

They were good. But tied for fifth. It matters in my book. Intellectual dishonestly is how I describe it.

No doubt the CANES necklace is the most gaugy and Tennessee trash can the stupidest.
But the media loves the old CANES. And they aint been that since the 92 whopping bama put on em.

LeRoy Jorden in town tomorrow
Hope to see him at Bryant Museum

And I understand why they're pushing it--hoping for that storyline to develop. Mark is the perfect coach to allow it to develop as he suspends players for headlines.

If the weather holds the last place you'd find me is indoors. That is going to be nice.

Gotta work Saturday night...so, I'm betting that I'll watch this game on my laptop sitting on the deck. Now, there exists the option of watching it online at work. Ya see...these are things I have to do. Going inside on a fall afternoon...campus at this point in the fall season is going to be comfortable. (anti-hyperbole.)
