A&M out. It's UGA. So, if things go as expected this afternoon we'll see Bama vs UGA, in ATL, again. And, for the second time this season.

Here's one of my complaints about the expanded playoffs becoming true in year two. We are staring down the possibility of Bama and UGA playing three times this season.

You want to see the playoff committee struggle with seedings? They'll try to avoid that.

Now. Let's assume a UA win over UGA in the SECCG. It would likely mean Bama is in the top four, #3 or #4. It would require the committee to put UGA at 7, 8, 9, or 10 to avoid a rematch. Is that seeding teams fairly? No. It's a clusterfuck.

On top of this one...what's the committee do with OU? If the chalk holds today Texas will finish higher than OU in the SEC but OU is in the playoffs? Cluster...

I'm thinking AZ's (upset) win over AZ St. last night puts the Big 12 at a one bid conference: period. Now I'm wondering what happens if we happen to see BYU upset TTU? Does that boot TTU and the Big 12, all together?

Right now I see people making arguments if that happens the conference should not receive an invitation. I get that line of reasoning.

On the other hand we have the group looking at the ACC and seeing potential there as well. And it's not a good thing. I've seen arguments about the ACC being left out as well.

In the meantime, the B1G is on their knees (multi-tasking) praying for this to happen. "Two P4's left out? We need to expand!!!"

Ok

We gonna disagree. I suspect

No p4 conference champion should be left out. Period. If ur gonna have a spot for a G5 team...which i dont agree with..then a p4 champion should have a spot...

We we are expanding. Its happening....
But this year. Its made this weekend pretty exciting...
still lots could happen today in several important games. ......bet no-players gonna sit out ( cough cough aka bowl games)

We have a power two, a second two, and the rest that could be split in two tiers (to what end, I couldn't say, but there is a divide). No automatic qualifiers is my view, and give some actual weight to SOS. aTm played the weakest conference schedule, and it should've affected their ranking ahead of last night's loss. If you consider who they've beaten, then Sark's plea for his three-loss team making the playoffs falls flat.

I have a few friends who are TT alums, so I'm pulling for them almost as much as I'm pulling against BYU.

Why? If they've lost games that matter, beaten no one, how do they deserve a shot?

At least they are saying it out loud now. The teams enjoy a chance to participate. Not compete, participate.

Texas finished with 3 losses, 2 weren’t top 4 teams and 1 was to pitiful Florida. Texas was ranked 16 in the last CFP rankings. They would need to be in the top 10 to make the dance. What do you guys think, will they make the party? Will the committee move them over the Miami’s of the rankings that are ahead of them. Bama is 10 now, assuming we win, and everyone ahead of us wins, Texas would have to jump us as well.

Going to be fun to see how it shakes out today. A&M was the first upset of the weekend and one of only, what, 3 true upsets of top 20 teams in the past 3 weeks? We need some drama, but that doesn’t include Bama!

#20 lost last night ICYMI.

#20 lost last night ICYMI.
5 top 20 upsets in last 3 weeks so far. In 2024 season, week 12, there was 1 top 20 upset. Week 13, 1 top 20 upset. Week 14, 2 top 20 upsets. So no chaos in 2024. A little more this year. Oddly, we’ve been 2 of the 9 top 20 upsets the last 2 years during the last three weeks of the regular season.

Top 10 teams have held serve the final weeks of the past two seasons. Of the 9 top 20 upsets the final three weeks of 2024 and so far this season, 6 were ranked between 13 and 20. Leaving Bama and Ohio State making up the 3 upsets of teams penciled in the bracket.
