Rojas, Bediako, and Ellis are the only ones playing that care in my eyes. They others have said fuck it and going through the motions. Just start shooting threes. We can't make a layup, they're hitting threes, so there is zero reason to go down low anymore.

I'll say it again, I didn't think we deserved to make the tournament. I'm glad we did of course, but not enjoying it like one should. You look at a team like us that likely only made it due to the Gonzaga win. We looked like crap half the year through the end of the year and it's showing here as well.

Had a similar type coach who required the called play to be run. Regardless. Even setting back up after an offensive rebound. The last game I started, I got a couple of those early and put them back up from 10-15 feet. Was quickly removed from the game with the score 4-0. I had the four points. Was inserted back into the game late and scored on a fast break. Six points on three attempts. In my mind, if I had 30 attempts that night, I score 60 points.

Coach benched me a game and a half for missing 1 practice over Christmas Break my senior year. I was good for maybe 10-12 points a night, but rebounding was my thing. I loved to get physical in the paint. Well, we lost the first game in the tournament by 5. Really pissed me off, because I felt that I could’ve made a difference. That 2nd game, he finally sticks me in, EVERY TIME I touched the ball, I shot it!! I ended up with 27 and we won!
Final game of my senior year, I played my heart out, my most complete game and we lost and were eliminated from state. After the game, coach announced to us his selections for all tourney and he purposely left me off because of that missed practice way back in December!
Needless to say, coach and I didn’t part ways as the closest of coach/player friendships!!

I watched that and just shook my head. I cannot for the life of me not understand the lack of gane awareness from D1 athletes a lot of the time. It wasn't a secret the half was ending.
