Trent, what the hell are you doing?

I watched it. It's not the offensive line. Actually the Raiders OL has been stout this preseason. I'm afraid Trent simply isn't cutout for the NFL. Even with the weight loss he is slow. I'll be highly surprised if he makes the final 53. Especially seeing at what they signed him for.

This comment on that article resonated with me ..

"Quit making excuses! Trent during his time at Bama was to that point my favorite RB during the Saban era. Now it's Eddie Lacy. But Trent never has been an opportunistic runner. He just bulldozes and sometimes gets lucky - as in the only TD Bama scored against LSU in 2011. Don't Feed people that BS about someone fixing to close the hole. The fact is, the hole was there and he had more of a chance to make the yard for a TD than the defender had to stop him. And even a dead heat would have looked a lot better than running stupidly into a brick wall. It's always Trent's problem - he's not innovative.. Lacy would have been through that hole so fast, the defenders would have had to pick their jock straps up off the field. My advice to Trent - quit and go home to your family."

I don't think he should quit though. I think he has potential, he's just got to work harder. I don't think he will make the final 53 but someone will pick him up, somewhere.

Trent's problem is lack of vision which is killing his performance. It's making him play slow and in the NFL you simply cannot play slow. The game moves waaaay too fast to be hesitate in making decisions. My guess is Trent is cut and not picked up by anyone. He averaged 1 yard per carry in Saturday's preseason game.

Not directed at you, @PhillyGirl, but at the writer above. Trent did not need a yard for a TD, he needed seven. Whether he made the best choice or not, he did pick up a couple of yards. I wish Trent the best, but I am starting to doubt that he has the right skill set for an NFL running back.

You're just now starting to doubt? The guy has been in the league for 4 years now and has been beyond awful outside of a mediocre rookie year.

Yep, his first two years he played with a worse OL than he had in Tuscaloosa. Why all the Trent hate?

Its not so much as hate, its just facts. He had an alright rookie year, but was completely unproductive as a Colt after the trade supposedly being a "steal" for the Colts because he would be a featured back in a heavy run offense. He was awful. I mean hell man, Ahmad Bradshaw has a better career than Trent with the Colts. I wish him nothing but the best, but he was a huge bust.

So you get your jollies bad mouthing a former Bama great?

I still believe it is his lack of field vision causing him his problems. It's been said time and time again by Marshall Faulk that when watching Trent on film he runs to darkness, not day light. It is very telling when the OL is blamed but others (like practice squad backs) get behind the same "bad" offensive line and do a lot better.
