Training Days: Rolling with the Tide- Episode 4 (all four parts in our media gallery)

I love how they show Butch in the team meeting room. He is as far as physically possible from the boss. Like he is hiding from him.

If he'd smart he would sit in the back, record and take notes of EVERYTHING. Then work that into a coaching plan for when he gets an opportunity at Alabama or elsewhere. Excellent chsnce for him to just sit, watch, learn, and apply.

He had a notebook and that is likely what he was doing. It was just the fact that his seat was a far as humanly possible from Saban, that gave me a chuckle. Like, please don't notice me, I am tired of washing your car.

"Coach, can you get the smaller Benz next time? This one takes too much wax."

In the first or second episode we see one coach refer to the "loafing percentage." It caught my attention but I didn't really think it through.

There's a segment in this episode (@20 min mark) that touches on how they track a player during practice. If you think about the detailed timing, down to the minute I'm sure, it really defines what he meant with "loafing percentage."

Well, if anyone wonders how much coach Saban pounds down the gullet the thrash talking going on by other teams and players, wonder no more. Coach mentioned that Petrino guarantee "they're going to whip our azz." Then goes into nice detail on the wolfing by their players. Numerous times. I love it. So much for all that boring coach speak at the pressers.

This blew my mind when I saw it. Talk about evidence to back up comments by a coach about your performance. Would have hated seeing my scores some days in high school. Of course I would give anything to go back and give 110% every day, these days. This is a killer tool for motivation as well.

I'd like to see the LBs data.

Have you ever noticed that Saban has never really been tied to wearing Bama colors when he's off the field, and now even more so? He probably wears what Miss Terry puts out for him, but he's never been tied to the "uniform".
I have noticed that. I have even wondered if he was colorblind. I worked with a coach that was and his wife always had to lay his stuff out for him to wear. You could definitely tell when he dressed himself.

That blue color he wears has been a huge color at The Locker Room the last seven or so years. My wife doesn't care for it in terms of Alabama colors, but I like it cause it is different.
