Training Days: Rolling with the Tide- Episode 4 (all four parts in our media gallery)

When CNS was asked about this "Training Days" thing, Saban mentioned 1 word.........EDIT!!!!!! So for everyone thinking that Jalen is somehow closer to the other players than Tua or certain guys don't like Jalen. Just stop!!!

That's clear but I think this last episode really destroyed the narrative that I've seen some try and paint that Tua and Jalen hate each other, too.

i wonder how it would have went over if all the over and under thrown passes the last 2 years if the WR's would have went up to Jalen with the same demeanor as he did Ruggs?

Wow you are seriously making something out of nothing. He asked Ruggs if he was okay, who responded by saying he was cramping, and then told him he would keep getting the ball to him. You are creating something controversial in your head.

I haven’t seen that narrative from anyone, but then again, I ain’t looking for that. I believe that those 2 really like and have a mutual respect for each other. Kind of like when Christian Miller and Damien were talking about the “little scrap” during the last episode. Even family will go at it. I have seen nothing but support from them both, either in games or in these episodes. People will twist shit however they want to fit an agenda.

There was a bunch of people saying that because they weren't sitting together in some of the meetings that are shown that it's proof they dont like each other. Then again it's social media and half those people are trolls.

Speaking of Damien, glad he said the driver behind his decision to come back this years was to be a leader for the team. I am really looking forward to his play this year

I've never heard anyone in the media or on this board push that narrative... Those 2 dudes have such high character I don't think anyone in their right mind could come to that conclusion.

You can see that Damien Harris's legacy is going to be a notch higher for sticking around his senior season. He want's to be more of a leader, that's why he said he came back. I can get behind that attitude. On top of the fact, he really is a very good runner and he pops the line of scrimmage better than anyone we have.

In the last scrimmage Jacobs was hitting the line just as hard, if he stays healthy he too will be fun to watch. We are locked and loaded on offense.

This guy reminds me so much of Linnie Patrick and when he wore 25 it was a real deja vu moment for me. I think his balance and take off is incredible. The one thing I haven't seen from him is top speed. Damien can sprint to the finish line, it will be interesting if Jacobs has the top end speed to do the same.

In the release of the timed 40's about a year and a half ago they were neck and neck. I believe Harris ran a 4.51, Jacobs a 4.50.

Has he lost a step? By all accounts, no.

But top speed is what happens after 40 yards. Nobody was ever getting to the 40-yard line faster than David Palmer. He was the quickest dude I ever saw. But not the fastest. If you didn't get Derrick Henry early he would slip into another gear on the top end and embarrass DBs to the goal line.

I would personally rather be super quick then have that extra gear in overdrive, but some have both. I haven't seen Josh do it yet.

I get what you're driving at here but it has to be taken in the context of how many times are we going to see these guys with 40+ yard runs. Off the top of my head I'd say Damien had less than a half of a dozen last season--more likely four or five over 40. His longest was 75. According to what I've seen he had less than 10 that were 20+ yards.

Not many times. That's why if I had a choice I would pick quickness over fast, in any sport, except 100-meter dash.

I remember Damien being frustrated his sophomore year because he got caught from behind in the open a few times that year. He lost a little weight and last season he was a little faster on the top end and finished more in the end zone. Not Henry fast but he did improve his top speed. Since Henry left he has been our most consistent home run hitter. Bo did it a few times in 2016 but I didn't think he followed it up last season even though he lost some weight.
