Looking at the presser, what kind of sense does it make? Tuberville states they have a good offense and they aren't going to go away from it, but they just fired the only coach on the staff that runs the spread?

I don't know, but it works for me.

CTT Press Conference regarding firing:

I was a little suprised when he mentioned he had yet to sit down with the rest of the staff and figured out what they were going to do. Need to have a game plan when you plan of ditching coaching staff. Hope ole wingnut can "wing it"..........lame pun...I know

Saturday will be probably the most interesting game so far for the barn just for the sake of seeing what comes from this mess.

Last I heard from AU player interviews were they (offense) were frustrated in the spread not working yet according to ears' press conference they like it. Good ole ears' playing the deck for the fans and media.

LOL! Tubbs about eats his hat when the first question comes in.

"Coach how do you go from yesterday saying...."

Tubbs looked like he visibly choked up as the question was coming in.

What an IDIOT!!!!!!!!

How do you give a new offensive coordinator half a season to revamp your tired-a$$ed West Coast/I-variant to a spread? How do you can the guy when it's only reasonable to assume that it would take a minimum,......minimum... of one full season, if not the better part of two, to actually get the system in place and running effectively?

The barn may go back to the power running game this season and it may work well enough to pull off a few more victories, but long haul, Tubbs has shot the program in the foot big time. I mean, how does Tubbs justify throwing another coordinator under the bus? Who would possible be crazy enough to come in as an OC or DC for him? How do you tank your recruiting by firing the coach/system that you've recruited 20+ players this year for?

Unbelievable.

I've seen several references today on Auburn boards that there was some sort of a confrontation between Franklin and Tubbs. Apparently Franklin yelled at him and Tubbs got ticked off and fired him. I don't know if that's true - but I sure hope it is. I mean, I feel bad (not really) for Franklin, but if Tubbs is that emotionally retarded....

In the presser, it really sounded like he had no idea what he was going to do - other than stay with the current offense. I doubt the firing was really based on "performance". Some of the players were talking about how Franklin was really hands-on in practice yesterday and that he was getting them fired up, etc. It just doesn't make sense unless CTT really lost his cool.

Whatever. Unless CTT pulls a rabbit out of his butt, Auburn is really going to be hurtin' for a while. :D

A lot has been mentioned about the gash on Franklin's head too. Check the film and at the 2:33 mark you see a gash in Franklin's head that appears to have been freshly stitched. I guess he could have fallen out of bed, but it kinda makes you wonder huh. ;sus

If practice is any indication of things, I'd hate to be in a coach's meeting. :(

Talk about guys who will hold a grudge a long, long time...We should hire Franklin for some kind of bogus coaching position with no real authority, just to be in the locker room firing up the troops prior the end of the "streak" this season....

Maybe we could hire him to spread peanut butter at lunch time for the coaching staff. :D

Completely void of any class!!! This guy has been humble and willing to take the heat since day one, no matter if it was his fault the problem runs much deeper. Tubbs would have been the better choice in my opinion. Not that I want Auburn to work all of this out but Franklin has been looked down upon by Tubbs inner circle ever since he got there.

All right, what does a deposed genius read?

I see a Tony Robbins book or two in that stack, along with Willie's Way. What else?

I see one book with a big #1 on the side, but I can't read the rest of the title. I can only assume it must be, "How not to be..."
Or "13-0 and still not #1"

I have a gut feeling that Franklin is the type guy to do some talking later about what really happened regarding his firing and the gash.

auburn has a history of paying hush money, but I'm not sure he stuck around long enough to get it. Or, if he was interested in taking it.

I believe his hush money may have been substituted with a 3 inch laceration on the noggin.

They were out of hush money so they went for the amnesia angle.

Boy, did anyone else hear Terry Donahue's response

on College Football Now when asked about the Auburn situation?

He basically said that Auburn would not have to be looking for an offensive coordinator if it would go out and get itself a better quarterback. And he was about that blunt when he said it.

He also said in his 20 years of coaching that he never fired anyone in the middle of the season, but that we do not know all of the circumstances surrounding the situation.

I'll keep a look out for the clip; I'm sure it will surface on YouTube.

I think they should gave him more time. They should have fired TT. His time is about done. I think we will beat them and Georgia will and they will end up with 4-5 losses and TT will be gone or at least I hope he will be.
