🏈 Tim Williams arrested?

Based solely on what we know so far there should be no discipline for the gun issue. There was no problem with him owning it but he got checked on a technicality regarding his possession of it at that moment. Like @utstnx said, no more serious than a ticket and it will get dropped if he actually has a permit. Now, if you want to try to run the stupid out of him for being out at 0200 with a dude holding weed...make sure he stretches first.

I agree. As long as Nick Saban doesn't look Tim Williams straight in the eyes and say to him:

It really doesnt matter what your belief or my belief is, the school bans guns from being on campus. Just like the University of Alabama can't come into your house and tell you that you can't have guns, you dont get a say in their policies. The point of a policy like that is to be able to lockup and punish people that do come to campuses with bad intentions.

i know it doesn't matter what my beliefs are. that's why i wrote my second post.

Silver lining - Rashaan Evans will get more snaps at a position that he's looked way more comfortable.

I know the "advanced stats" and scouts have been telling us how great Tim Williams has been playing but I haven't seen it. I was a huge TW fan and hated seeing Devall get his snaps, constantly complained about it, but the hype was way overblown coming into this year. So far he's yet to produce much of anything statistically (4 tackles, 1.5 Sacks).

Got some hungry young cats in Evans, Miller, and Jennings. They will do really well.

Well then you probably need to have your eyes checked. Every snap the dude is in he is in the backfield, stats dont always tell the story...

I am not completely sure about this, so check me if I am wrong. But I believe you are supposed to apply for a concealed weapon permit in the state you reside in. When I applied for my permit about three years ago, I went to a Jefferson County office in Birmingham on 8th AV. North. I had to fill out an application which was sent to Montgomery to be checked out. I was approved for my permit, but I believe it took between four and six weeks before I went back to that office to pick it up. It was easy for me to get as I have never been arrested and have no record.

that is true, BUT, a ccw permit from louisiana is legal in alabama as well (as is vice versa), due to reciprocity laws. so in this case it wouldn't matter that the permit is from louisiana.

and wow, you had to wait that long? i think it took me and my mom maybe 3 weeks (MAYBE) to get ours. we went to the sheriff's office in bessemer, though, so i don't know if that has anything to do with it.

Damn that's crazy. Every snap he's in the backfield and has 1 TFL. Guy must have short arms...

Maybe you're thinking of #93. He's the one who actually gets it done

#1, Tim Williams isnt on the field every snap. #2 being in the backfield doesn't necessarily mean a TFL or a sack. If a pass rusher is blowing a tackle up and forcing a QB to throw a pass or scramble before hes ready, guess what? That doesnt show up in the boxscore 90% of the time (unless credited with a QBH). I love that you cite Jonathan Allen (who is incredible himself) but who caused that fumble that he returned for a TD against Ole Miss? You conveniently left that out of your stats... But how could I expect someone who's entire football knowledge to be "how many points did my linebacker on my fantasy team get me this week?!"

Ironically... I did not leave out the Ole Miss play. That WAS his 1 TFL for the season! LOL.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooo

This seems to have drifted off topic however, I am certain that God....uh, I mean Coach Saban will handle it appropriately. Chalk it up to a lesson learned I hope and let's move on.

Causing a QB to get off his spot, tuck the ball, reset his feet, don't show up in the stat sheets either. You could also look at the number of holding calls made against our opponents this year and it would be puzzling. ONE!!!! It wasn't even on Ryan Anderson or Tim Williams but we have literally seen OTs tackling those two to the ground. The OTs for Ole Pi$$ were credited with more tackles than their DTs! TW is having an impact. He is often causing the QB to step up right into the waiting arms of J. Allen.

Why is he out with a dude smoking bud on a week night? I get it, you're a college kid but you are not a normal college kid. You are THIS close to being a future millionaire.
Note: the very qualities you mentioned would give most people anxiety. Not many healthier ways to relieve anxiety than by enjoying cannabis with another.

That posted in a medical journal?
Really? You didn't know that a joint calms you? You didn't know that fellowship with a friend over a joint (or even an alcoholic beverage) and engaging conversation can be soothing and/or enjoyable? Add to this that there is no recorded death directly attributed to cannabis.

Here's a study at Vanderbilt. You do know they opened up the internet for everyone now, meaning, we all can now search for information ourselves. But there's one criterion: you must first be curious.

From ESPN:

Jackson said he never used marijuana before games or practices and knows of nobody who did. But, he said it helped him recover afterward and it didn't adversely affect his performance. In fact, he said, it helped him hone his craft because he would visualize successful play while high "and that carried over to when I was sober."

"I consider it a performance-inspiring drug," Jackson said.

He said he could see how it could help runners, bicyclists, golfers and other athletes who aren't getting attacked by 11 defenders.

"Michael Phelps is the best swimmer that the Earth has ever produced by far. And he smokes weed," Jackson said. "That should tell us something."

From BleacherReport:

What's clear is that numerous players smoke weed. Some because they like it. Some because it helps them deal with the rigors of football. Some because they believe marijuana helps ease the crushing and kaleidoscopic effects of concussions.

The anxiety I mentioned earlier is only one of a plethora of legitimate reasons why any serious football player (college or pro) would need or want to use cannabis.
