Has anyone had confirmation yet on the tickets? The email Sunday said we would hear something today.

I'm hoping to get my 2 (if available) for my measly amount of points. I've had the tickets for 10 years and bought for every bowl game.

Well I just got the email from UA ticket department saying NO, I dont have enough points to qualify for tickets. They had overwhelming requests for tickets.

Im ticked. I'm mad that I have been a loyal Tide Pride donor since 2000 and I have attended every bowl game since then. I always managed to get tickets through TP/UA. I even got to the Sugar Bowl last year. But now the big game and nothing. This Tide Totals thing sucks! All is does is favor the ones that donate the most and screw over those of us that donate what we can. Instead of allowing every big booster to get 8 tickets to the game how about allowing everyone 2 seats?

:nopity: I know , I know...

I'm just dissapointed. :frown:

We are reminded that Bowls are a completely different animal. The Bowl is a business where the University being promises Head-of-Line honors for 10,000 seats is first a courtesy not an obligation of the bowl, and second is done so only because the bowl can have these tickets sold.

Back to the business part; there are 70,000+ tickets floating around out there still, and you and I have a shot at them. The issue is we don't get the benefit of a face value purchase of tickets alone. The Pasedena area hotels and coach services are tied into this event via package deals. So one would have to pay for a hotel (which we would do anyway) and transportations (which we would do anyway) in order to get the tickets. A middle man gets his cut, but we are getting an extra game of football, which in principle seems fair considering that we are not obliged to buy it.

As fans we are better off because there are 30+ bowls of extra football. Its a blessing. Now all I have to do is decide if would rather live without "Thing One" or "Thing Two" to buy my package. ;)

By the way, University of South Florida still has tickets available from their allotment to the International Bowl in Canada...at face value.

You're right LBS. There are many packages available with tickets. I just can't get past the thousands of dollars part.

Anything that has tickets included runs about $2,500-3,000 per person. That's just for 2 or 3 nights stay. I just have a hard time justifying that. I haven't given up, but I'm not exactly optimistic either.
