What do you think about having a mobile website as well that would work with iphones and android phones, some new software has came out today and would allow the forum to be reached by both and not cost a member a penny to use. This would allow you to post from work or anywhere and not have to do anything but use your phone. here is a little more information below and let me know what you think

Vbulletin mobile Suite

Just came out today and wanted to see what everyone thought of it, if you have an iphone or adroid it would work easily with the website. Things it will do below

The world is going mobile - go mobile with it!
Today we are proud to announce the long awaited vBulletin Mobile Suite which breaks new ground by empowering users to interact with your community via custom-branded iPhone and Android apps is here!
  • Ever wanted to take a photo with your phone, and immediately post it in your favorite forum?
  • Been in an airport and got a reported post and wanted to take action on it right then and there?
  • Wanted to move your forum into the mobile app space? (10 billion app downloads have occurred in the past 3 yearsÂ…)
The vBulletin Mobile Suite does all this, and more.

I am on my HTC inspire right now. I love the idea!

I do know that us ATT customers can only download ATT approved apps though. Not sure if this one is approved or not. I'll look into it tonight

Would it be an app or just like "www.m.rolltidebama.com"? B/c I've accessed this website from my IPhone before and honestly it worked/ looked fine to me, though I guess what your saying would be a step up.

This will he great. I've wanted a mobile friendly version for a while. Im on android via Droid X.

I rely on my sports widget and RSS feeds linked to here. If the news feed shows a good read then I'll deal with 3G and post or read the whole thread. A more mobile friendly app would be much more inviting to browse rather than rely on RSS feeds.

LBS in the stone age here. Although I would get no use out of it, if there is a demand for it I support it. My one concern is that I would not want it if it required more effort to support on the admin-side, to the point that the quality of what we have drops.

I don't know, I absoultely HATE mobile websites, especially the ones that don't put a quick link to the full site. It may not matter too much on other phones, but for my iphone, I want to see the full site.

Just last night, I was trying to order a pizza and wanted to see if pizzahut had any coupons online. It defaulted to their mobile site, which wouldn't let me view any coupons. very infuriating

I will agree with vetman, sometimes mobile sites are a pain if you're trying to see certain things, or you just want to see something that you know the normal site has but the mobile doesn't, but for a forum-based site I think it could be pretty nice
