This link above is to an article about Cris Carter, father of Alabama signee WR Duron Carter, as the senior Carter makes a speech at the GoDaddy.Com Bowl in Mobile.

He states that Duron with become eligable after the bowl game, shares that he he believes that the young man will be a really good WR, and even finishes his speech to the Arkansas State and Northern Illinois teams with "Roll Tide".

But this thought is what drove me to post. The article notes that Cris runs a training program in south Florida and coaches at St Thomas Aquinus HS there locally. The piece eludes to how supremely impressed the 16yr NFLer is with CNS' staff.

If Cris Carter is impressed with the program, is himself already training/coaching football, and his son is living in Tuscaloosa, could Cris Carter soon become a member of Alabama's staff? Frankly, I'm not seeing a weakness in him as a candidate should there be a slot coming open...which could happen as CJM moves on to Colorado State.

Here's what I know about this briefly.

Last summer, CC worked with the kids at our camps in the summer.

What you've stated up to the last paragraph is the case.

As to becoming a member of the staff? There were conversations that started about this back in the middle of the season. Here recently, they've begun to crop up on venues like this one.

I don't know the extent of CC's education and I don't know how that directly applies to a position on our staff in the future. Does he have his degree? Does the job just require a undergrad degree or do you have to have a graduate degree as well?

Averaging 213 through the air and 219 on the ground.

What do you want?

Efficiency? #20 in the nation.

Our offense stalled in one game. One. And, it really didn't stall then...just fell apart mentally inside their territory.

I know we are balanced. Boise does not have a reputation for a running game that would prosper in the SEC, which is my concern with Pease.

I look at it as a win win. Even if CC doesnt become part of the staff hes got a direct link to St Thomas Aquinas. And that school does nothing but produce All Americans. And as stated in previous posts. I dont care who we get as our OC. No way in hell we change from what we do now. Its Saban's offense plain and simple. The person that comes in to run it is going to know that from the beginning. But as i think about it more. Yes yes i love the thought of a direct line to St Thomas Aquinas

This right here. The pipe line that opens up with CC will produce long term hopefully. As for on our staff, I'm not sure. Me and a friend pondered the question a while back thinking it would be cool if Groh got promoted and CC took over as WR coach. I brought the idea up here and I believe Porter informed me that he did not have his degree. Maybe hes only a few courses short and can finish them up in a semester? I dont know, would be cool to have him on the sidelines but I dont see it happening anytime in the near future.

But Karl Malone does have his degree, so he can join Grant and take us to the Final Four:hyper:

Look at our commitment list for the 2012 class. Now, at the 2011 class.

You'll only see one player there from Mississippi. (I understand Dial is as well, but that CC and he is originally from Clay-Chalkville.

Faciane is the only guy from MS, a 4* TE. Why so few from MS?

The staff made a decision two years ago to basically step out of the state. Qualifying issues with players was the main motivation.

With St. Thomas Aquinas. Great athletes, yes. Students?

I'd love to see him work Grant's summer camps like CC has done!!!

CC seems to have a good thing going working for espn. Would he really want to drop that for a position on a college staff where he will be very busy 24/7? Plus all the other stuff from above.

On NFL Live this morning ESPN was showing Julio walking in to the Giants' Stadium. Julio had on redish-crimson colored headphones and a redish-crimson colored tie. Anyway, one of the analyst made the comment about "those being some nice red headphones", to which Carter responded, "no, those are Roll Tide colored headphones."

It's just funny to see how his interest in Alabama has now peaked with Duron attending BAMA, and his relationship with Saban. With the stage he has, he's not a bad guy to have on your side...

Duron is part of the team. He's getting one of those NC experiences but from a unique position. I imagine his CC is living vicariously through Duron to a point. You know, as a father, he has to be excited.
