📝 The recruitment of Rashan Gary ...

Why'd I think it was Fournette?

Was he all major services #1?

Oh well, still want Gary.

He probably should have been. Yes, they have said Gary has just dominated over everyone he'said faced and outperformed other position players, and every other player in the country obviously. The only thing I never understood is what his momma said about our defense not revolving around him. I'm betting the national Championship swayed her opinion on the matter.

So, finally snagging the consensus #1 would be great
For publicity sake, yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing that blasted everywhere.

I'd have to think about the player and contributions to see if it translated on the field (that #1 ranking.)

Bowers at Clemson did OK, but didn't end up "tearing it up." I think he fell into the second round. I recall 2009, CLEARLY. Bryce Brown. 2010 ... Florida player, maybe? 2011, Clowney. 2012, DGB. 2013, Nkemdiche.

Powell? Does that sound right for 2010?

Anywho, my point being ... I think those are the consensus #1 guys over the past few years. All would have contributed, no doubt. But, based on what we saw, if one were to ask if they lived up to their ranking? I'd say the consensus answer would be no.

Bowers had a questionable knee when he came out. Otherwise he would have been 1st round. But I def. get the point here.

Well, NCAA has sent the letter of allegations.

The NCAA has formally charged the University of Mississippi with dozens of rules violations in three sports, multiple sources told Yahoo Sports.

The school has received a Notice of Allegations from the NCAA enforcement staff alleging roughly 30 violations in football, women’s basketball and track and field, sources told Yahoo. It is unclear at present what the breakdown is in terms of violations by sport. The NCAA does not comment on current, pending or potential investigations.

Reading some of the comments from Ole Pi$$ fans on this is priceless! In their eyes, "Saban is to blame, Emmert is his buddy, everybody hates Ole Miss, 96.9% of this deals with wbb, only 0.69% deals with football, it all happened under Houston Nutt, the Tunsil issue is over and done with, the punishment was already handled, etc."

This kid has been Harbraugh's white whale (no pun intended) since taking over Michigan. He's been a Michigan lock for quite some time. Hell, Tom Brady and Derrick Jeter are going to be a part of UM signing day festivities. Does anyone really expect #1 recruit to spurn them with this script?

Wasn't 2010 that Seantrel Henderson, the guy that said USC then backed off, then after NSD ended up at Miami and pretty much fell off the face of the earth? Maybe he wasn't the #1, but I was thinking he was. He was out of Minnesota. But overall, the top guys have not been the top players, at least on the college level. Many have been good, no doubt, but not usually the best. Still love to have any of them that are rated that high. But I struggle with greed...

Yes, you would be correct. Bryce Brown was another I believe. Rivals just did a breakdown since they started their Rivals 100 deal, and they showed where #1 rarely lived up to their ranking and #2 actually became better players.
